Fresh Alaskan Halibut fish 'n chips.

We always search out what's local and well made. This definitely hit the mark! Right on the coast in Whittier Alaska, this is a fresh as fish gets. Make the remarkable trip through the Anton Anderson Memorial tunnel, (longest in the USA at 2.5 miles!) To the hidden town of Whittier.

Chef owned and operated, the Wild Catch Café is putting considerable thought into their sourcing and preparation and the result is delicious.

A light rice flour tempura- style batter highlights the flavor and flakiness of the fish. Seasoned to perfection with a side of hand cut fries and malt vinegar (cheers mates!) this was an extremely satisfying stop.

Rounded out the meal and chilly, drizzly day with a hot cup of Zen Chai with almond milk, also a locally made specialty. I love the nuances in homemade Chai and this had an unexpected citrus overtone that brightened up the...

Happy tourist! Our group of 6 booked a glacier tour and didn’t leave much time between arriving in Whittier and boarding our boat. Even though food was available on the cruise I was craving substance and the Wild Catch Cafe did not disappoint. The service was quick and friendly and the food was hot and delicious. I enjoyed a cup of reindeer chili (tastes like beef chili but it’s leaner & higher in protein). I shared a salmon burger and fries with a friend (highly recommend). And I tasted my girl friend’s fried halibut. I’m not trying to be dramatic when I say it was life changing! I’m from Oklahoma and I’ve never experienced this fresh of fish. My only regret is that I live too far away to be a regular. Side note: they have a restroom so no need to walk in the cold to the public restroom...

Stopped by for lunch after doing a morning tour in Whittier. Luckily, it wasn't a time when one of the big boats arrived, so there wasn't any wait at all. Was able to walk right up, place my order, and grab an open table on the patio. Service was very prompt and friendly.

Ordered a few Alaskan beers, Salmon Filet Burger, and Halibut Fish & Chips. Food was brought out to my table within 10-15 minutes and looked amazing. The Salmon was a nice cut of meat that was grilled to perfection. The Halibut had a nice crispy batter that added crunch, but didn't take away from the taste of the Halibut. The patio tables gave a nice view of the surrounding mountains and water. Perfect place to grab a bite and enjoy the sights and sounds...
