Don Jose Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

I LOVE this place and the food. Most times I get an excellent waiter or waitress., This time I was alone. And I don't know if he didnt think my tip would be worth his time or what. I never got an offer for a drink refill. I never got checked on if everything was ok, which it wasn't because my order was wrong. But that usually doesn't happen. I had to wait 10 min till I could get waiters attention. Not that he wasn't in my area, he was, but waiting on other people that had more than only one person at their table. He would go right past me with out even giving me a glance. I finally had to call out to him to tell him my order was wrong. Once corrected, he brought the check with out asking if I needed desert or anything else. This visit isn't how things usually are. I usually get excellent wait staff. One time tho one waitress took my order, brought to table and I never saw her again for at least 45 min. I'm guessing she was new, never saw her before that time. Didnt care for her. Over all, even though only 4 stars and only 3 total bad times of eating there, out of BUNCHES of times, odds are real good with as many times I've ate there. And I WILL continue...

I've been eating here since like 2000. And I used to LOVE IT!! But it seems like since they grew into a chain of places. The food has no flavor anymore, just went with my wife, granddaughter. The waitress was very attentive for the first five minutes. Took our drink order. We ordered the same thing we've been getting for years. And then the waitress disappeared. No refills, no attention. I twirled my credit card in the air for fifteen minutes before she even came to ask if we needed anything else. Nothing aside from the salsa had any flavor. It was all just boiled until tender, then stuffed into tortillas. I don't even like taco bell. But at least the food there has seasoning, flavor. Had a 5 star rating but after today(which they were dead since it's the 4th of July) I've got to drop it down to a 2 star cause...

It's one of my favorite restaurants in town.

I keep an eye on rentals near it just in case so i can move closer if a good one pops up.

The food is always phenomenal. It feels like your grandma cooked it. You can taste the love.

Flavorful, delicious, and generous portions. Salsa and pico are always fresh. Queso is always piping hot.

The staff goes above and beyond each time i interact with them. Always very friendly, and im usually greeted at the door and then a few times by other staff while i wait for my togo.

Our orders are perfect, I'd say 9 out of ten times. But if you do call them to correct something, they make it right and take care of the issue.

Prices are fantastic for the quality and portions you receive.

I cannot reccomend them enough food here is great and they take pride...
