Hwy Cafe — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

Food was great, our SERVER wasn’t. I don’t know what was wrong with her if it was because we were Mexican? Or was she just having a bad day. Or just NOT A GOOD WORKER DUMB OR LAZY. Ever since we arrived the energy was off I asked for lemon in my tea, and an extra plate for our 2 year old to share to eat with her sister. We didn’t get anything. My dad asked for 1/2 & 1/2 tea he received sweet. Mistakes happen so he said I’ll just ask for unsweetened next time she offers a refill. (Which we never got) Our 2 year old was eating on a napkin. We didn’t get offered not 1 refill the whole time we were there. We practically had to beg her and go seek her if we needed anything. I asked for a taco basket they didn’t have any at the moment it’s fine. We asked for extra catfish plate to go and she didn’t add it to the receipt. And we didn’t get it. I asked for tartar sauce since I didn’t get my plate to go and they didn’t have any. 🤷🏽‍♀️ My sister clearly asked for a kids meal because I heard my sister tell her. And she charged us a dinner. We asked for the receipt to be corrected. She didn’t say thank you y’all have a good day as a server should! That’s customer service being polite to your customers we weren’t rude to her ever we said please and thank you, even cleaned up the table and our Coke spill. she did say to the person before us”thank you have a good day” and completely ignored us SMH. What a coincidence. The lady was a Caucasian elder like in her 40-50’s, curly hair. Seriously do better.

Mistake after mistake just doesn’t make sense. Something was definitely off...

It's definitely the best breakfast on this street. (Not saying much! No other choices!) The food was bland and below average in quality. Biscuits weren't flaky and the gravy tasted like powdered. The service is the real crime here. After I was seated and received my order, I wasn't talked to again. No offer of coffee refill. I wasn't even asked upon check-out how everything was. Drive to 8th Street Coffee house. Much better quality everything.

What makes this more sad is that the owner replied below and denied the things I said. Evidently, if you're not from the area, you're not treated with respect. No one interacted with me after I got my food....

This place used to be our favorite spot to eat breakfast; however, the last two trips have been awful. Both times we waited at our table over 10 minutes, and were ignored and finally just left.

Service here has really went downhill since the older waitress left. There is also no management of the restaurant or employees. Hopefully changes occur because this used to be a great local place to eat.
