We originally just made the stop for the homemade fudge but we found some other texas items we couldn’t leave without! I bought fudge, texas pot holder and hand towel, local honey and apple preserves as well as Duke Cannon gun smoke soap.
The fudge was divine! They have a buy four get two free deal big you’re looking to buy for a group. There’s a Texas section for the kitchen, shirts, cups and knick knacks. I was really impressed with the preserves selection which also had red pepper jelly and other homemade canned foods. It was kind of hard to decide which one to pick, they all sounded yummy.
This was a fun stop and I REALLY wish I had $400 to buy a rocking chair, so comfy and would go great...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about the Pecan Shed. And I've only dealt with the staff that works the buying side from growers and pickers. I give it 4 stars because they are quick, efficient, friendly and you walk away with cash. On the other hand the price dropped from 80 cents per pound to 60 cents per pound which I understand to be the lowest payout in this area. I also question the accuracy of their scale as I weigh my yield as well as the container and it's not the same as their weight sometimes. As a whole it is a benefit to be able to sell pecans for quick cash and this year's crop is abundant to say the least. You could probably nitpick it to death but I say don't look a gift horse...
