My friend and I were in town and randomly decided to try out this restaurant, and we were very happy with that decision. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I ordered the rosemary butter to add on top which was good but not really necessary. The steak was delicious on its own. The seared ahi tuna was delicious, and the brownie in our dessert was warm and fudgie and oh so good. I was a little hesitant about the baked Feta, but I actually quite liked it. My only complaint about the food were the mozzarella sticks. I'm not sure if they were meant to be served like this or not, but I'm not particularly fond of mozzarella stick and are completely solid where it's feels like you're just biting into hard cheese rolled in breadcrumbs. Outside of that the food we got was delicious. Oh! I didn't get a picture of this but the bread they serve with the garlic confit was yum yum good as well. We also got 2 martinis. I personally wasn't a fan of them, but that's not fault to the drinks. I think I just realized that I might not be a martini girly. 🍸 As far as the atmosphere, it's a casual dining atmosphere with dim lighting and mellow vibe, or atleast my experience was. I don't remember what our waitress' name was but she mention that they were short staffed. I honestly couldn't tell because she did a great job tending to our needs and making sure to check in with us regularly. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely be stopping by here again the next time...
Read moreEveryone knows that with lack of staff due to Covid, service everywhere seems a little less than par. With that being said, my husband and I went to Pelican’s for our anniversary dinner. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The problem was that a server never came by. We decided to cut our losses and go elsewhere. As we were leaving, the hostess asked if something was wrong. We told her the situation and she truly tried to make things right by seating us in a different section and apologizing. We told her it wasn’t her fault but that we were leaving because it was our anniversary and we wanted it to be special. About 45 minutes later we recieved a call from the owner apologizing for what had happened. He then proceeded to send us a letter with a certificate for our next meal! All I can say is WOW! That is true customer service right there! I was highly impressed by his compassion and care for his patrons and his business! We went back this evening and had an amazing waiter named Cullin. He was fabulous, as was the food! Thank you Scotty P for being so caring and caring about your customers! We will definitely be back!!! All restaurants have issues from time to time, but to show that kind of customer service shows how much they care! We truly...
Read moreBased on their menu prices and some online photos I thought Pelican’s would’ve been a really good restaurant but I was left a bit disappointed. Upon arriving I noticed they had plenty of parking and that it must’ve been busy based on the availability of spots. Once inside, it did seem very busy but it’s because it’s pretty tight up front which is where their bar is. The bar has very little seating but I’m assuming they’re better known for their table service. I ordered a whiskey sour which was just made with sour mix and whiskey, I wasn’t expecting anything fancy but considering they have pappy’s, just using sour mix and a regular cherry and not making it with egg whites is a disservice. The bread provided was as hard as a baseball bat and was more like a long cracker. I had some raw oysters which were pretty tasteless and extra slimy. For my entree I had the filet with a loaded baked potato. The filet was pretty tasty and cooked to the perfect temp but the potato didn’t even have the cheese melted. For a place that has $40/$50+ steaks I expected a bit more. Staff was friendly and casual but could’ve been a bit...
