We were invited to @Blue Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar Our last visit was so much fun, so we were really looking forward to this meal. We had the FAMILY COMBO #1 and paired it with some of their festive drinks, including some very tasty smooth shots. We started with the appetizers, the Cajun Nachos and the Breaded Calamari too. The Calimair came with 3 different sauces, Sweet Chili, Cocktails, and my favorite is the VooDoo sauce! We capped the night with the Toasted S'mores Chocolate Lava Cake. Our server was exceptional too! She gave us great recommendations and was so patient with us too! I ask a lot of questions, so I appreciate that she was so informed and willing to guide us through the menu. ♥️♥️♥️ #wichita @wichitalifeict #shopict #kansas #foodie #midwest #foodphotography #foodielife #seafood #boil #crawfish #seafoodboil #crab #calamari

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Blue Hook Cajun Seafood Restaurant, and we had a fantastic experience. We opted for the Boil #1, and it turned out to be a delightful feast for the senses. The dish included a tantalizing assortment of clams, crab legs, mussels, corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage, mud bugs, hard-boiled eggs, shrimp, and a cleverly hidden lemon. I must admit, I couldn't resist devouring the lemon—it added a refreshing twist to the already flavorful seafood medley. To kick off our meal, we ordered the Jalapeño Crab Sticks as an appetizer. Much to our surprise and delight, they were generously included with the main course. The combination of succulent crab and the subtle heat from the jalapeños created a perfect start to our culinary adventure. Although the waiter forgot to return my card, it was a minor oversight that didn't significantly impact our dining experience. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, ensuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy our time at Blue Hook. The food itself was the star of the show. Every component of the Boil #1 was cooked to perfection, with each ingredient retaining its natural flavors. The clams, crab legs, and mussels were incredibly fresh and succulent, while the corn on the cob and potatoes added a comforting touch. The sausage and mud bugs provided a satisfying smoky and savory element, and the shrimp were plump and juicy. The inclusion of hard-boiled eggs was a unique addition that added an interesting texture and flavor contrast. One of the highlights of the meal was the well-balanced seasoning. The Cajun spices infused the seafood and accompaniments with a delightful blend of heat and savory notes, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. It was evident that the chefs at Blue Hook have a deep understanding of Cajun cuisine and know how to create a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, our visit to Blue Hook Cajun Seafood Restaurant was a resounding success. Despite the minor oversight with my card, the attentive staff and the outstanding food more than made up for it. We highly recommend trying the Boil #1 for a true taste of Cajun seafood heaven. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for a unique dining experience, Blue Hook is the place to be. In addition to the exceptional food and attentive service, Blue Hook Cajun Seafood Restaurant also had the added bonus of a live band playing during our visit. The presence of a live band elevated the overall dining experience and created a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The music provided the perfect backdrop for our meal, enhancing the lively ambiance of the restaurant. The band's talent and skill were evident as they delivered a diverse repertoire of songs that appealed to a wide range of musical preferences. Whether it was soulful blues, or upbeat Cajun tunes, the band knew how to set the mood and keep the patrons entertained. The combination of delicious food and live music created a truly memorable evening for my wife and me. It's not often that you find a restaurant that excels in both culinary delights and live entertainment, but Blue Hook Cajun Seafood Restaurant managed to do just that. The presence of the live band added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience, making it more than just a meal but a complete evening of entertainment. It was evident that the restaurant takes great care in curating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for its guests.

Definitely Not ready for business. Went last night with my cousin and my dude for my birthday 4/16. My cousin Call earlier that day to make a reservation and they said that they did not do that and we when we arrived at the restaurant at 8 o'clock p.m. because we were told that's when the rush ends they said it would be another half hour before we were seated and asked if I was on the list???? . They gave us a pager and we waited for the pager to go off which never happened. There was some flooding issues going on in the bar there was some flooding issues going on at the entrance and when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and use the restroom I found that the sanitary dispenser had fallen off of the wall and the insides had spilled out leaving a nasty mess on the bathroom floor which with as busy as they were nobody had checked the bathroom in quite some time gross. We grabbed a table in the bar because we didn't think we would get a table if we didn't the bartender told us he was the only person in the bar and he may not be able to help us adequately. So after waiting in the bar at the table for 20 minutes We got up and ask the hostess for a table inside the Main restaurant. It took them another 10 minutes to find a table. There was only 4 of us. Once we got our Table it took another 10 minutes for the server to even come by and get a drink order which was all water. Took another 10 minutes for the water to get to our table and we ordered. There was 4 of us 3 separate checks and the waitress took the 1st order which was mine and my dudes then forgot the 3rd person at the table and the 4th person at the table and had to be called back to take their order. There were 3 dinners ordered me and my dude shared ours And then my cousin had hers and her friend had hers and they totally mixed up all of our orders. We had ordered ours mild we got my cousin's friend's medium they forgot the sausage they forgot the Cajun rice she forgot a lot. I had ordered 2 po boys to go for after my meal for later tomorrow I never got them nor was I ever charged she never put the order in. This place is definitely not ready for business the manager did hide out all night he would come by put his head in run To the back he definitely does not know how to handle customer service and she definitely does not know how to run a restaurant. Unfortunately the lobster the shrimp crab that I ordered which for the prices I paid you think would be somewhat fresh all of it was pre frozen. So they take frozen seafood put it in there Cajun boil Add some corn and potatoes and bring it out to you??? I probably will not go back. It wasn't the worst experience I've had a restaurant but for the price I paid for frozen sea food last night I could do better at home. The poor hostesses Do not know how to handle seating they do not know how to handle busy restaurants they do not know how to communicate they have no system and I too agree they will not be open long it is too bad though with just a little tweaking it could become the best restaurant in Wichita unfortunately I am not wasting my money...

To be honest, the food was good. I highly recommend the pepper jack fried mac and cheese. Tonight there were a lot of disappointments and negative to go with the positive though. This was our first visit. Upon entering the dining area, the smell was amazing. I was so excited after hearing many great things. For starters, I asked our server if the shrimp po'boy was fried shrimp or boiled or grilled. I can't do a lot of fried foods and wanted to try their sweet potato fries, so didn't want fried shrimp. I know traditionally a po' boy is fried, but the waitress said it wasn't. I got really excited and placed my order, along with a beer to come with dinner. She brought out the beer shortly after, and then the waiting started. The draft beer I had unfortunately was a little warm, and I was trying to nurse it for when my food arrived. About 5 minutes later, our server came back and said she hadn't put our order in, and that the po'boy was in fact fried so I opted to change my order. Ordered a shrimp boil bag with cajun and garlic butter sauce medium heat. About 10 minutes later our appetizer arrived. It said on the menu it came with voodoo sauce but there wasn't any with it, we had to request it because she hadn't brought it out, claiming they normally let customers pick what they want after we asked about it as she was walking away. Then we waited. And waited. After about 30 minutes she came out and said she was just waiting on our shrimp. I know shrimp only takes a couple minutes to cook, so we figured it'd be soon. We got concerned when the table next to us had walked in 10 minutes ago and was being delivered food. She came out about 10-15 minutes after and said she didn't know what was taking so long, apologizing saying she was trying to hurry the cooks but couldn't get an answer from them on what was taking so long. That's when we recommended that she get a manager involved if staff wasn't communicating with her. Within 5 minutes our plates were served. My husband's order was right, mine was wrong. She gave me the wrong sauce and put it in as mild instead of medium. Then she brought us our ticket. After the snaffoo, we figured something would probably be comped. NOPE!! Full price. In fact, she even charged me for a draft beer that was $1 more than the one I ordered, and the one she rang up wasn't even on the menu!!! That's when we got the manager involved and he did discount a few things, apologizing that they'd had issues with this girl all night. So, overall the food was good and the price was really good. But you do get what you pay for. As a warning, it says it comes with potatoes and corn with the bag. What it doesn't tell you is you get one little red potato and one little piece of corn that isn't even a full ear. My only other concern with the food was one of my shrimp had not been properly cleaned and all had its full poop sac that I couldn't just pull it because it had been cooked. We'll definitely go back to try it again, because one bad server didn't take away good food that really isn't offered anywhere...
