Cicis Pizza — Restaurant in Wichita

Cicis used to be one of our family's favorite places to eat. Years ago we visited our first Cicis while in Oklahoma and were blown away by the quality of the food. I recall their pizzas being so flavorful and appetizing. The buffet was just a bonus! So when Cicis finally made it to Wichita, we rejoiced. Our family went a lot over the years, first with our children and then our grandchildren. But sadly, we began to notice a decline on each visit. And as the quality and service declined, so did our visits. It seems there is no longer the effort to stock the buffet line with fresh pizzas like in the past during down times. Also the restaurant consistently appears dirtier than in the past. We were there with our two grandkids about a week ago and we had trouble finding a clean table. It was an hour after the lunch rush and there were only 2 or 3 other families there besides ourselves. So I'm really perplexed why there had been no effort to service the tables. And as I feared the pizzas on the buffet line were not fresh at all. I suspect most of it was just leftovers from the lunch crowd. Poor and very unappetizing. I certainly don't feel I got the same value for my money that the lunch crowd probably got. These are the main reasons we seldom eat here anymore. I did visit the feedback address posted at the table and left a review of our experience. And I did receive a response from the store owner Troy. He explained that their buffet line stops at 2pm and transitions to a personal buffet to your table. He also acknowledged that the staff apparently failed to do this on the particular day we visited. I was not aware of this change. And apparently this fact is not posted on their website either. He was apologetic and offered to send me a couple of vouchers in the mail to use on our next visit, which we did receive. We'll give it another go some day and I'll provide an update...

Constructive criticism. Not being rude. I want make that very clear.

I love the cleanliness of the restaurant and the design. I love the staff here. Everyone here is nice and friendly. The GM has been here for a few years now and keeps it well maintained and staffed. Food is always out on the buffet which is excellent but not always fresh.

Big issue is the ingredients in the food has went from a 5 star restaurant to lower quality ingredients. When you charge 21.99 for two all you can eat buffets you have to match your competitors. Pizza ranch Monday-Friday is the same price. They do the same thing but, their quality is always top notch with top notch ingredients.

Again I am giving constructive criticism from a person who isn't picky about food. I love food, food I never usually find issues with. I ask of you cicis to improve the ingredient quality. Your service is excellent, food on the buffet is always up but not always fresh. The issue again is your ingredients being used isn't what it needs to be.

Brownies are dry. [This could be due to age when placed on the buffet]

Salad ingredients might needed to be re put due to not so good tasting cucumbers in the salad.

The manara sauce had a really funky taste to it. Might again be due to the freshness.

The deserts. I tried one of each and I almost didn't even know what desert pizzas I was eating, and when I bit into it the tastes I received I was not pleased.

You guys can do it. I was here 3 years ago and it kept having me coming...

I've never been to CiCi's before even though it's just minutes from my home. I treated my son and two of his friends to a buffet. The place was absolutely packed, and in my eyes completely understaffed. There was food all over the floor, no matter where you looked. The salad area desperately needed a wiping down. Garbage overflow, and it was extremely loud. Granted, they were mostly kids, but quite a few adults too. It isn't CiCi's fault, but the waste I saw was really just horrible. People leaving three, four, five slices of pizza, kids piling their plates and not finishing. Whole plates of salad left behind. I was just disgusted with the waste. My son really enjoyed it, and it wasn't too bad as far as flavor goes, but they really need to step up their cleaning. And you patrons of CiCi's, really need to monitor your children's portion control. just because it was a buffet doesn't mean they can just treat food like it's trash. It was...
