Where to start? Saturday, 8:45pm, main sign is off, outside menu light is off, big yee yee truck in the drive thru in the opposite direction, and the 'cook' is outside hanging on a motorcycle that is parked on the sidewalk next to the back door. What it looked like, for a Saturday night, was that this group of people working, really didn't even want to be working. They were literally chomping at the bit to shut down an hour early. We didn't even order a large quantity of food. For my $20, both of our burgers looked like they had been reheated twice, drowning in ketchup and both burger's buns were upside down. What a mess. I ate what looked like a hocky puck of a burger. I questioned whether the lettuce was even edible. So, I ONLY ate the burger. The order in which the the burgers were assembled, looked as if a toddler had just thrown them together. Didn't want cheese on one burger, because, lactose intolerant. Even ordered, no cheese on one. Cheese was on both. Only thing fresh out of the whole order, were the fries. Thank God. There...is your 1 star, Dog-n-Shake. If you don't pay your employees decent wages, how can you expect them to give decent or even reliable service. Pay your employees a decent wage. Train them properly. Hold them to a higher standard. I don't see this particular location lasting much longer. Gonna be another 5 years before I even consider visiting this location. Dog-n-Shake was a Doggone Shame. 1 single...

This goes for the Ridge road location as well but, my personal opinion is that the fries are the best part about it. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, just not quite the price you pay "good". I can spend the same amount or less at Sonic and be more satisfied. The food stuffs are definitely not quality. What actually keeps me coming back is that it's different than most other fast food joints. One key difference being, most fast food restaurants use ketchup primarily. Dog-N-Shake is primarily mustard. They also use relish in place of pickle slices.
I am not a hot dog person so I usually get cheeseburgers. Their hot dogs look like they came from the cheap bin. It's been a while since I've been here so I didn't look to see if their Chicago was still on the menu. It is good. However, better option at Sonic.
Shakes, not sure I've had one since childhood. Sonic has better options.
To summarize, I have always enjoyed Dog-N-Shake and I doubt that will change any time soon. Unless, their quality starts dropping heavily. I did just give it four stars. I don't always justify the cost. Also, I don't mean to plug another restaurant here. That is just the closest in location and similar types of choices. I would personally love to see a come back like another small Mexican chain has in the last...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI loved this place solely for their cherry shakes. Twice now I have had an employee run to beat me to the door to lock it, then run to turn off the lights TEN MINUTES before close.
My parents owned their own restaurant for 34 years. I grew up in the food service industry. I hate those people who come in right before close. Everyone does. But I still served them. Or, if our grill was off, I would still greet them and apologize and offer them what I could.
I figured my odds of getting a milkshake. At 9:50pm at night was slim, but I didn't think poking my head in to ask was so bad.
As I've said, this is the SECOND time I've had the door LOCKED IN MY FACE and TEN MINUTES before the posted closing time. Apparently my business isn't worth the common decency to turn me away. Locking the door in my face and ignoring me is all the value my patronage holds at this establishment.
College Hill Creamery actually OFFERED to stay open past closing without me even asking or implying. Therefore, I'll be giving them my patronage in the future. Beyond better service, they also offer a superior product at a more...
