Don Taco Stop Mexican Fast Food — Restaurant in Wichita

So, I absolutely love the food at Don Taco, when they get my order right and don't forget any of my food that is. The past 3 times I've been they either didnt include my items in the to go bag or they put the wrong items in the to go bag and one time both those things happened. The inside of the building smells like literal sewer. And it's entirely way too hot and stuffy in there which does not add to the ambiance in a positive way. The kids working there never really seem to have much remorse about messing up my order and once I was even almost scolded about not bringing my food back with me (I live clear across town and my family was staving) in order to retrieve the 3 churros I ordered and paid for. The food though, top notch. Absolutely delicious. The carnitas platter is my favorite. The juicy, succulent pork practically melts in your mouth and the refried beans are made with real lard to which I give a huge thumbs up to. It can be a bit on the pricey side but whats a few extra dollars for a killer plate of filling and delicious Mexican food? So, in conclusion, I strongly recommend giving them a try. But, be forwarned: Always check your bag of to go BEFORE you leave the drive through window and NEVER go...

First, these reviews can’t be recent or real… Before we ended up at Alejandro's Mexican Food (which I do not recommend) we went to Don’s.

We found Don’s based on the reviews but as soon as we rolled up, the place looked very sketchy! A man standing outside with no shirt on with a drink in his hand. The place looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in years! Inside and out…

We drove up to the drive thru, we attempted to order after she said, what can I get for you? As we tried the order, the mic cut off… we sat there for a few minutes and said hello a few times but nothing!

So, we rolled around to see if she having technical issues. She saw her clearly helping the car in front of us. As soon as we were next, she walked away and started sweeping. After a couple of minutes, we could tell she was ignoring us.

We drove off, she went straight to the window to attend to the people behind us… The whole experience...

I finally made it! First timer! WOW! why did I wait so long?! First of all, the Churros! Hands down the best I've ever had, & trust me, I've tried every churro in Wichita! I'm basically a churro connoisseur at this point! Lol! These are in a league of their own! warm, crisp, soft inside, and perfectly sweet.

The tamales, unreal! Perfectly cooked, so flavorful! I literally couldn't stop eating them. I was mid-bite & thinking, “How do I even describe this magic?”

Rice & beans? Flawless! Not just Filler, really well-seasoned & delicious.

Also, I’m honestly confused by some of the bad reviews I’ve seen because the staff was amazing. So nice, funny, and genuinely personable. You could tell they were working hard, and the place was clean and welcoming.

Bottom line: I made the right call coming here. I’ll be back....
