Instantly when walking into JJ Beard's Pub & Pizza i was greeted with the welcoming, rustic atmosphere someone comes to crave of this kind of establishment, drawing you into a warm, safe comforts of an era long past.

My son and I visited JJ last night. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars. Pretty cool setup and vibe. 1 star for the service. We decided to sit by the pool table so we could shoot some pool. After maybe 10 min we finally were greeted by our waitress. Ordered 2 waters and 1 V6. I also gave the waitress two dollars to get quarters for the pool table. After 10 minutes we finally got our two waters and one V6. 30 minutes later I asked the waitress if our food was gonna be done soon. She went back into the kitchen and then returned and apologized and informed me that the food has not been started yet. She asked if I wanted my two dollars back since I never received the quarters that I asked for when we ordered our food and drinks. I told her yes and that I wanted her to cancel my order because it had been 40 minutes from the time we got there and still our food had not even started yet. They were busy but not a packed house by no means. Maybe a little over half full. I get we have Collin orders as well but if you can't get someone's food out after 40 minutes then there's a problem. I think the most disappointing part of the pizza was the lack of actual corned beef on the pizza. Multiple slices of pizza had just once piece of corned beef probably the length of a fingertip. It was incredibly underwhelming. Some slices had huge air bubbles that where it was just all crust and no sauerkraut or sauce. Out of the eight slices, there were maybe three slices that were salvageable enough to be considered a Reuben pizza.

Because this was a soft opening, there were employees going around asking for feedback. I shared exactly what I just typed above with two employees; one who said she would share it with the kitchen and another person who said, “Well Reuben pizzas aren’t for everybody.” I’m not sure if he was understanding what I was trying to convey...
