1st time visit. Don't let the neighborhood scare you away. As I thought Oh no... what an i getting myself into. I had originally went for the cinnamon rolls that every one says is the best. I however looked over menu and changed my mind I ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich and Fries. The sandwich was exceptional loaded with meat just the right amount of peppers and onions. Waitress did enquire if I would like mushrooms also. Passed on that. The fries are fresh cut there. They were yummy, the size was a little small. My daughter had the chicken tenders.. they were the largest pieces I had ever seen. I tried one the batter is awesome. It fried up nice crispy and light. They were not greasy. She requested gravy for dipping. It was great gravy. Her meal also came with salad, dinner role and vege. She chose deep fried okra. I never did get a cinnamon roll, when we check out the didn't have any icing..SIGH.. It has that family restaurant vibe, the waitress says everything is made from scratch. It was a good choice. Now I'll have to try earlier in the day for...
Read moreWaitress was not very friendly to start off. I let her know right away that it was my 1st visit. I ordered a salad, fried catfish, fried okra, and lemonade. Both were cooked to my specifications, but has barely any seasoning. The lemonade was good but I like it more tart so I requested a couple of lemon slices. When the food arrived I ask for more lemon. The server stated that she couldn't give me anymore, she needed them for other customers. The salad was just lettuce dumped out of a bag. I saw BLT on the menu but they didn't even give me any tomato. When I requested some for my salad I was informed that you have to request them, that they were not regularly included. They also attempted garlic bread, however, it was merely white bread that was barely toasted with garlic butter only in the center of the slice. When I went the counter to pay I inquired about what desserts they had. Her reply wás the only thing they had were their cinnamon rolls. They were huge but that was their only saving grace. They were not iced no raisins or but that I could see...
Read moreThis was the first time i had been to Kelly's and my sister-in-law recommended so ee went forunch. I had the roast turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetable ( cauliflower, broccoli, carrot mix), and a salad. The turkey was wonderful! It was a good portion of tender, juicy turkey breast, topped with a chicken or turkey gravy. The potatoes could have used salt/more salt during the cooking process for flavor as they were a little bland. The salad, although it was a bagged mix of iceberg lettuce with red cabbage and carrot was a generous portion and very crispy. You can tell it had been placed in an individual chilled bowl in the refrigerator. No other topping than the dressing, which came on the side. Iceberg lettuce is not my favorite, but the cold crunch of it made it good The mixed vegetables gets a 👎. It was cooked to the point of being mushy. The broccoli stems and cauliflower stems held up, but basically a pretty limp vegetable. Will I go again. Yes I am willing to go again. They had so many things to try, I was having a hard...
