Paleteria La Reyna — Restaurant in Wichita

I've always visited this place since I was a little girl and everything was always good until recently, on father's day weekend my family and I stopped in, we got four different ice cream cones two food entrees and 2 raspados(flavored shaved ice) we asked and PAID for lechera ( a sweet consended milk that goes on top) we paid got our ticket to wait for our food, we got a table and when my husband went for the food and brought it to us I noticed that the plate that I had ordered did not have at all what the menu said it came with. It was just full with shredded lettuce a little bit of cheese and 4 pieces of meat 2-3 bits of tomato and avacado it looked so poor...but I eat it anyway, but when I noticed my raspado didn't have the lechera I had payed for I politely went up front to ask them for lechera and the young lady said sure it will be 25cents I said, I my sorry but I paid for lechera on top and actually u guys didn't put any on both of the raspados we paid for.. and the lady that charged me didn't give me shmy receipt she quickly gets an attitude and says yes we did it will be 25cents if you want it. I was just annoyed with her attitude and her response.. So my family and I left this place a little disappointed and honestly we would't want to come...

I have lived in Wichita for 16 years and missed great Mexican food until today. Paleteria La Reyna is a gem hidden in north Wichita. I had the Maize Tostada with Asada and ground beef with Horchata drink [rice and cinnamon] and my wife had the Mexican plate with Verde Pork with a Mexican Coke. I feel like I could die now and go to heaven. Every part of the meal was full of flavor. The asada was smokey and cooked perfectly. Crispy tostada, smokey beans, crispy lettuce, and fresh avocado. I don’t know what they cooked the rice in but I wish I could bathe in it. I have loved rice pudding since I was little and the homemade horchata was like they made my childhood dreams come true. Mondays they have chicken enchilada special. Yummy! Order at counter, they call your number when order ready. Today, no line to order. Weather was fantastic, we ate outside on shaded patio. Family owned, ice creams made by family recipes. I had Piña fresca to drink. I took away one star, simply because they have stopped making my favorite flavor of ice cream, Uva (grape). Please bring Uva ice cream back. Its unique and delicious!! Service is good and quick. We've been here multiple times. They also do to go orders. Fresh strawberries and homeade cream, sliced fresh mangos, and other scrumptious treats in refrigerated display case. An assorment of traditional and hispanic flavors of ice...
