We started with their ginger cranberry margarita and classic margarita. Both drinks tasted good but there was zero effort put into presentation. No salt/sugar rim, no garnishments, nothing. Adding a nice sugar rim with a few cranberries and rosemary sprig would have instantly elevated the cocktail and make it feel like more of an experience. My drink arrived half full while my husbands was filled to the brim. Odd. We also noticed our drinks sitting at the bar for 15min before we asked about them and they were brought over. Our appetizers took 40min to come out but I will say, they were the best part of the meal. The boneless tenders were soooo good. Piping hot, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Their spicy umami sauce was awesome. I’d go back just for those. With that being said, the ranch was brought out in a little Ken’s container with a pull away plastic top. I felt like I was at a fast food restaurant. Something as simple as bringing the ranch over in a ramekin makes a big difference. Also, if you were to hold a gun to my head and make me decide which sauce was bbq and which was “local sauce” I’d be dead. They were exactly the same. Just plain sweet baby rays bbq with a slight kick. My husband got the clam chowder which was very good but there were no oyster crackers which is a traditional pairing for clam chowder. Our entrees came out pretty quick after the apps but they were mediocre. The Buffalo chicken flatbread did not have the same delicious chicken we received as an appetizer. It tasted like frozen Tyson nuggets. The whole flatbread just tasted state and dry. One of those meals you feel gross after eating. My husband’s burger was decent but nothing to write home about and the sweet potato fries had potential but they were overcooked and cold. Service was meh.
All in all, it was like an overpriced Applebees. I probably won’t be back. Which is a shame because we live so close and were excited for something new in town. Hopefully they turn it around or they’ll probably close. Maybe I’ll be back for the boneless...
Read moreHeard good things so we checked it out. Sat at the bar and our server was quick to welcome us friendly but not overly attentive. Had to grab her attention every time we needed something but she was pleasant, just didn't seem like she knew how to check up.Had a prickly pear martini.. sounded delicious but hardly worth the money since it was mostly pear puree and less gin, had to pour water into it not because it was too strong but because it was loaded with putlree which was way sweet. The appetizer we chose was the boneless wings with the garlic parnesan sauce on the side and they were well worth the $$ they were fresh and crispy and served with multiple sticks of celery and carrots and a side of Bleu. Unfortunately that's all that was delicious. The Buffalo chicken Flatbread had about 6 pieces if chicken and wayyyyy to much sauce, if the portion ingredients was correct it probably would have made its way to almost delicious but it was kind of a mess. The 1/2 rack rib platter with two side, I chose Mac n Cheese and slaw which was the best thing on the plate. The ribs were so tough I had to cut it off the bone, instead of the meat being moist from the proper cook they slathered sooo much bbq sauce on top I had to scrape it away. The paper they put under the food was dissolving and because I had to cut every bite it was sticking to the meat and I ended up eating some multiple times before I gave up. The Mac n Cheese was cold it probably would have been tastier if it was warm at all but its basic beer Cheese on twisted past. Not much flavor not kuch passion. The coleslaw was as cold as the rest of my plate and looked fresh and tasted fine. Server never asked us how our meals were, never asked if I wanted another beverage. Had to ask for the ketchup, salt , pepper, check etc etc etc.
Feel like if you're promoting bbq you need to at least know ribs should fall off the bone not need to be sawed off. Hoping they can tweak some things as they have a great place. Will try...
Read moreWe were Very dissatisfied. We got to the restaurant about 630 Saturday night and were told it was a 30min wait, no problem we were seated in 20. Initial table service was slow. The waitress was very polite and explained they were busy. The first beer I ordered the keg had kicked but it took almost 20min to get 1 beer. We ordered 2 apps for the table fries pickles and smoked wings. The pickles were not warm rather cold, and the wings had a terrible consistency and dry. The ‘local sauce and rub were not good’. The restaurant claims to do smoked BBQ but there was no evidence of a smoker. Then, 2 bowls of French onion soup were orders and it was the most bland, tasteless soup I’ve ever had. After waiting for over an hours after the apps the meals came. The playing and presentation was terrible. ‘Gabbie gnocchi’ was a very off putting shade of orange, looking like it was scooped onto the plate from a cafeteria line. The ‘blues burger’ was the most mid $16 burger over ever had. It was cold, the buns were soggy and the tater tots were ice cold. The waitress promptly brought a new side of tots but they were warm at best. The flat bread(if you can call it that) looked like an absolute abomination with thick soggy dough and off putting toppings. The sirloin was flash cooked and burnt almost inedible on the outside and very rare on then inside when ordered med rare. The potatoes were filled with an overwhelming amount of minced garlic. When talking to the manager and expressing our concerns he admitted the soup was 86’d after it was served to us. He also admitted all the food looked incorrect and not presentable. The only thing that saved the meal was the dessert was decent. Two tables is around us were upset at the quality of food, and lack of service. Overall it was a terrible experience. I hope the Local tap can figure out its issues. It’s a cool modern restaurant with good vibes but bad food. I will...
