Route 20 Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Wilbraham

Great experience!! Came here on a Sunday after skating with the kiddos ages 3-15. I can't tell you how challenging it can be for us to all go out together. My family of 6 was accommodated with no wait. Our server was EMILY - A TRUE GODSEND!!!! I have a 3 year old and was a bit intimidated upon entering because she can be quite a handful at times. Let me tell you, thanks to Emily's attentiveness, dinner went so smooth (actually it's never gone so smooth before). My little one got her drink in a spill-proof cup and I didn't even have to ask. As the other children were placing their orders she overheard my little one asking me for nuggets and fries and engaged with her to let her know she was getting her (tenders/fries) right away (which she did!) This left me speechless - and I can't tell you how grateful I was for it because my 3yr old always wants to be treated like her older sibling's ex. placing her own order like a big girl. Usually, she gets overlooked. We never had to ask for drink refills because she was on top of everything! She gave great menu recommendations and was so sweet. The food was amazing!! Especially the Cajun wings which I will go back for. Overall I recommend this place. Thank goodness for Emily, I don't think I ever realized how a great server can improve your dining experience this...

Normally love this place; nice atmosphere and good food, until today. After waiting 2+ minutes for the hostess to finish her leisurely chinwag with the bartender to notice we needed to be seated, she refused to allow us (party of 2) to sit in the rear of the restaurant because those tables "are for 4 people only". Huh?? I mentioned again I'd like a larger table (as we've done in the past with no issue; the 2-person tables are higher up and more like cocktail tables), but I was simply ignored. Note, the place was not at all busy, there was no shortage of 4-person tables. She went back to her chat with the bartender. Upon discovering the unobliging hostess was the owner's daughter, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. Our waitress (didn't get her name, but she was lovely) offered to move us so we wouldn't leave, but by then we'd lost our appetite for this place. Went here today-BIG MISTAKE!!! Waitress was actually fine-took our order but we waited for over 1 hour. The surrounding tables received their food, drinks and left......still no food for us(party of 3). When we asked about our order, we were told that our ticket(food order) got lost. Food finally came out-waitress told us she would take care of the mishap. At the end of our meal, we asked to speak with the manager (meanwhile, they were offering free desserts to take). Manager(owner) Laurie came over with an attitude, stated she already knew about lost ticket but here's a free dessert. We told her she should comp the entire order (salad, chicken tenders, soup & fish chips) she really got extremely rude and told us things happen and to leave----GET OUT!
