Panda Restaurant — Restaurant in Wildwood

I want to make it clear that this rating is not about the food. The service was so poor, we decided not to eat there so I have no idea if the food is good or not. We currently have Chinese food delivered once or twice a week from another nearby restaurant. We were at the strip mall where they have their restaurant so we picked up a menu and tried to place an order for delivery that evening.

First I called to place the order and was told I could only place an order for delivery online. So ok, I hung up and went online. We saw that there was a minimum $30 order for delivery and a $6.98 delivery charge. No problem, we were ordering for 8 people so minimum was not an issue. We chose their in house delivery service not an outside company like door dash.

I had passed around the menu we picked up earlier in the day and 4 of our group wanted to order a combination plate. The only problem is that none of the combo plates were shown online. So I called back and asked if they were still available. I was told yes, they were available to order by phone. So I said great, I'd like to place an order for delivery. Then I was told again the only way I could have food delivered was to order online.

So I said ok but how do I order the combos online if they aren't listed on your site? He said yeah sorry but there's no way to add them when ordering online and we can't deliver an order unless you order online. I said that makes no sense and then he said you can place your order on the phone if you want to order the combo plates and pick up your order because the only way we deliver is if you order online. I was so sure I misunderstood that I made him repeat it.

Clearly this is nuts! This restaurant makes a big deal out of being family owned, not a chain, which is one reason we wanted to try them. Instead, we hung up and ordered from our usual "chain" Chinese restaurant and we all had...

I didn't take into consideration the previous reviews and decided to give panda a shot. Today, I picked up their take out menu and took it home so that my family and I could enjoy a delicious work free saturday night dinner. The people at the restaurant seemed friendly and the kitchen looked clean so there were no initial red flags about the quality. My wife ordered her favorite, sweet and sour pork balls, and I had a szechuan beef combination plate without onions (in case we snuggled up on the couch afterwards). Both dishes are common in most chinese takeout restaurants - nothing funky. They delivered within 20 minutes, which was very impressive, but raised a flag for me since it normally takes at least 15 minutes to properly cook the proteins. I looked past it and accepted the delivery. While plating the dishes, my wife immediately noticed that not only were the portion sizes small, but also that her pork balls were cold and the sweet and sour sauce was cold and watered down. She heated the pork and set aside the sauce. By this point we were dissapointed. So we sat down to dinner and I notice that the rice is not fully cooked as I bite into crunchy grains that are mixed in with the rest. My wife looks at me and pushes her plate away and says "the pork balls are not fully cooked, I cant eat this". She's pregnant and doesnt take chances with anything. I took a bite, to see if it was just her, and the batter was not throughly cooked. At this point we were so upset that we tossed it out and decided to cook something instead.

So here I am, microwaving chicken nuggets, and informing anyone who may decide to give these guys a shot - save your money and go somewhere else instead.

In summation - low quality food and...

We ordered here tonight. We got crab rangoon, general tso chicken, lo mein, and house special fried rice. First of all, the chicken and lo mein did not taste good at all. So, we stuck to rice and crab rangoon. Unfortunately, when I dumped the rice onto my plate, there was a dead bug in my food. Wonderful. I called the restaurant and explained, and they said "so what's wrong with your food?" Now I'm getting angry and again told them aside from it just tasting bad, there was a dead bug in my food. They said they would remake the rice, but I simply just asked for them to refund the rice only. Again, they said they would just give us another. I told them I wouldn't be coming back.
