We went on what would appear to be a fairly slow Thursday night.
My daughter had remarked on the way there that she had been to the Wildwood Pub and Grill once before and she hoped we didn't have the server she had last time. This should have been a clue.
The patio area seemed nice, and they did have music.
We were seated promptly, and a couple of minutes later the afore mentioned server arrived and took our drink order. She was friendly enough and we had the drinks in hand, and irrigating the table, in short order. I did locate a pile of napkins in the servers area later to clean up the drink that had been sloshed on the table. Our order was taken in a timely fashion and our appetizer was delivered fairly promptly as well but without plates, extra napkins, condiments, etc...
This marked the beginning of the end.
As our appetizer arrived a party of 5 was seated in our section. Now there are two parties in our section. When the server brought out their drinks she spilled them. This led to some sort of crisis with the server who went A.W.O.L. for the rest of our meal. I believe she said something about getting her phone wet when the drinks spilled. (Note to owners of service establishments everywhere: if you allow staff to have phones while on the clock you are doing it wrong.)
We watched the party of five receive their food very quickly. The same ones that had arrived after we ordered. We did have our empty glasses of ice, straws, and hunger to keep us entertained. As the larger party adjacent to us was finishing their meal, one of them went to find someone to bring them drink refills.
When this person brought their drinks he asked if we needed anything. We informed him that we had "watched the other table enter, order, and finish AFTER we had ordered". This was at about the one hour mark of our visit. there was some feigned concern and a scramble to the kitchen.
We did have food shortly there after. The wrong food. A correction was made fairly quickly. My "peppercorn" burger was devoid of the sauce that was supposed to make it, well, peppercorn flavored. So, as a regular burger it was a solid average for a pub.
We were given a gift card in an amount that would cover one entree. Not a "let me comp something on your tab, and here's a gift card for next time," or something similar. Perhaps he sensed that there would not be a next time, or really wasn't concerned about a repeat visit.
A few minutes later guess who reappears? Our original server. She dropped off a credit card. It wasn't our credit card, we still had not received our bill. Based on the discussion at the servers terminal more than one party is going to have issues when they see their accounts. When we did receive our bill, the burger was listed at a higher than menu price. I did not bring that to anyone's attention as at that point we...
Read moreMy nephew and I had signed up for 2 hours at one of the simulators to start at noon, but when we got there, we were told it would only be one hour because there was a party that had rented out the area so we would have to be out of there by 1:00 p.m. I told them that it would have been nice to know when we signed up, and they said we should have got an email about that, but we didn't. So when we moved at 1:00, the golf game, Golden Tee, was over in the corner and I asked if we could just move there, and we were told that that wouldn't be a problem. So we purchased 18 holes on the Golden Tee only to be told at 2:00 that we were going to have to move out of the area and into the restaurant. I told the male waiter that we were told that we would be okay here in the corner, and he told us that we still had to move. I said that would have been nice to know because we purchased 18 holes on the Golden Tee, and we're only halfway through, and we paid our money. The guy said he wasn't here when we moved, but it didn't matter, we had to move NOW. He was pretty rude about it when we were just doing what we were told. Our waitress Beckie was awesome through the whole thing and comped us some golf simulator time on our next visit. Besides the rude male waiter, I would recommend this place. The golf simulators are nice, and the food was good. We only had the variety sampler platter appetizer, but it was tasty. The chicken strips were especially good as they didn't seem to have a lot of breading on them, which was nice for a change. Highly recommend, but just make sure if you're going on the weekend, and you sign up for the golf simulators, that there's...
Read moreI just went for lunch for the first time ever. I waited nearly 10 minutes at the table till I was greeted. I was then asked what I’d like to drink then took another 5 minutes to get back with my beverage. I ordered swiftly when she came back for my drink. I got the Philly Cheese Steak with a baked potato. The food came out timely but I was very dissatisfied. I first sat at the table with no silverware or napkins. I had to get up and grab them off a side station on my own. The Philly instantly fell apart and the garlic bread bun was very soggy and the garlic taste over powered the meat and veggies. I then sat for a while eating my distasteful food. The only good thing here was the baked potato. During all of these my waitress never came back to check for the food was. I finally got my waitress attention to ask for some more butter for my baked potato and it took her about 5 minutes if not more to get back to me. In all of this there may only be 3 tables not including me. Also, my glass of soda sat on the table empty, no refills here!!! And last but not least as I payed for the check the waitress tried to reach over me to grab the money off the table. I will always tip 20% because I serve for a living, but this was atrocious. If I could, I’d give this place...
