Swung by for lunch today, for take out. My usual travels don't bring me through this area anymore, especially during their hours! Currently it is 8a-3p. Ordered 6 dogs total, 2 for me with everything plus cheese, 4 for him, everything. Their "everything" consists of chili, mustard, and onion. He loves and prefers Ferris' dogs to their competitors, I like to sample different places because I don't regularly indulge in hot dogs, but once in awhile I'll grab some. They are a filling, tasty, and economical option if you are nearby, their menu also offers burgers, grilled cheese, and some other simple staples. It's honestly like stepping back in time when you visit, the place is small, with the round stools along the dining counter, plus a few booths. They have Middleswarth chips, and some candies like Chuckles that you don't see everywhere. Add onion to your food? Just $.10. Not $.50 and up! Same with the other toppings. They've been in business a long time and it shows(discover nepa says since 1929), pleasing staff, affordable prices, and that old school homey feeling... they are cash only, and if you're thinking about it, call ahead. They're usually busy and there may be a wait... generations of families in and around Wilkes Barre have grown up on their food, give them a try if you aren't already...

Small place with limited booths and bar seats but turnover is quick so you wont wait long. Give an old Wilkes Barre...
