Most of the time everything is great. I've had breakfast here many times, though first timers beware, credit and debit cards are not accepted. That was my first review. Since then, the last three times have been very disappointing. Father's Day was plain awful. Just four of us, simple breakfasts. The server put the wrong orders on our table and while we tried and tried to say she dropped them at the wrong table, she very abruptly and rudely denied it. (As if we each didn't know what we ordered!) Once she finally agreed (reluctantly), she grabbed all those plates, which we had each touched in some ways, and gave them to another table. It took 45 minutes to get our food (again, simple breakfast food), never once got coffee refills, and to top it off, our bill was over $85! Since one of us at our table is a server, it was quickly noted that the ticket was added incorrectly. Again the server strongly denied it, saying that's just what it costs. We brought it to the manager, who also said it was correct but FINALLY agreed to re-add the items. I mean, honestly I know it's a busy morning, but it was all handled as if we were the difficult people. The manager finally found that the server typically 'forgets' to clear the one and only calculator in the whole place. Our total was $48. Not $85. Gee, ya think? So we really were trying to be understanding. But by the end it was decided we wouldn't be going there, anymore. Sad because we had been going there for many years. It's really been the last two years that things have changed for the worse. Maybe they can get it together again. I will watch for future reviews. But because they really weren't very polite in return, I'm not going back. (Oh and please, someone get them to dust off the dozens of stuffed animals along those shelves above the tables. That's...
Read moreWaitress didn't seem too thrilled to wait on us, felt like she was irritated that we weren't "regulars". We just asked a few questions, as anyone who is new to a business would ask. Food was ok. A little pricy, but, ok... Coffee tasted very weak, and after asking for "lightly toasted" I got VERY DARK toast! Also, the place needs a very deep cleaning... Feet stuck to the floor. We were up in the area for a wedding, so I don't intend on going there again.
Well now that the owner is ticked off at me for saying the floor was sticky... Replying from my post ONE YEAR AGO! I DEFINITELY won't be back! I'm sorry you didn't like my rating and advice... But this was 1 year ago! I'm sure (at least hope) things are cleaner there! Wouldn't recommend this place unless you are a regular and don't mind slow business! Changed my rating to 1 star......
Read moreWe have heard good things about this diner, so we decided to try it tonight. One waitress said they had beer "Miller products", our actual one said that they had it but the holder of the license does not want it sold. HUH? My wife ordered the senior coconut shrimp, I ordered the senior two piece fried haddock dinner. The shrimp were fried nearly black, and were served with cocktail sauce instead of a sweet and sour sauce or some such. She was finally able to get some marmalade, which worked better. I was served two tiny pieces of haddock. Both were over done; one was to the point of being inedible. The other one could at least be eaten, but was bone dry since it was overdone. My wife could not eat the potato pancakes; the fries were just so-so. Obviously a lot of people have gotten good food here; we were not those people. We will...
