Wow wow wow. What can I say about the View at Morgan Hill. My husband and I just got married here on October 11, 2024 and it was better than I could have ever dreamed. We have a funny story for our engagement where we were supposed to get married at 1 venue and it was torn down before our wedding date so we had to scramble to find another one. When I tell you Im relieved that first building got torn down I cannot say it enough. I somehow did not come across this venue in my initial search and Im so glad I found it the second time around!
The View at Morgan Hill is appropriately named because it was one of the most beautiful venues we toured and our wedding photos are stunning as a result. We had no wedding arch, just some floral arrangements on either side of us, but honestly you didnt even need that with the gorgeous backdrop of the golf course behind you overlooking the green. Lisa, CJ and Gabby at Morgan Hill were all fantastic from booking our venue, all of my crazy questions along the way (very type A / anxious bride here), and to anticipating every need of ours on the actual wedding day.
The wedding packages here are so reasonably priced, and my favorite part of it all is that there are no hidden fees or added taxes because they factor all that into the base price that you pay. They do not try to upsell you anything or take you out of your comfort zone and they have multiple cost affordable options.
My experience on my wedding day was fantastic. At no extra charge to the couple, they provided food and champagne (and orange juice of course) to the bridal suite and also to the guys in the upstairs bar so just not having to worry about how I was going to feed the wedding party the day of was an awesome weight off my shoulders. It was perfectly timed as well, they provided breakfast and by the time we even started thinking about being hungry again they said "lunch will be out shortly" I had many moments during my wedding day where I was just so impressed, taken aback (in a good way) with how efficient and on top of things this venue team was. CJ and Gabby were fantastic the day of and they worried about so much so I didnt have to. They brought my husband and I our signature drinks as soon as we were done with the ceremony along with a plate of the appetizers so they made sure we actually ate.
Speaking of eating, I cannot say enough good things about the food!! We are still getting compliments 2 weeks later from guests where people literally texted us saying "I just gotta say that steak at your wedding was so great" and "wow I actually ate my salad". I hear so often from brides that they dont eat on their wedding day and I finished my entire plate including the salad. I felt everything was timed perfectly for me to have the time to do that and the chicken florentine (highly recommend) was just so good you couldnt not eat it!! The steak was good as well perfectly cooked and at least twice the size of the average steak you see at most wedding venues.
I seriously cannot recommend this venue enough and if I could do it all over again the venue is one of many things I would never change in a million years. As if the view for the ceremony site were not gorgeous enough they also provide golf carts to you to get some awesome photos on the golf courses for either first looks or just some cutesy photos with your husband. We had a great time with just the coordinators and our photographer the morning of just jetting around the property and getting these awesome glamour shots.
Seriously if you are an Eastern Pennsylvania (or New Jersey and dont mind getting married out of state) bride you need to get married here. You will not regret it (PS. If you like to golf the wedding packages come with 4 free passes for the golf course to use within a year of...
Read moreTerrible experience. I will never return. I have hosted many family parties at "The Vintage", now known as "The View". My niece was married there 14 years ago. It has always been well kept, beautiful, had lovely amenities, great food and as importantly, great service. I have worked with their party planners frequently, last time was 2 years ago (2019) for my Dad's 95th birthday party.
My Mother and I had dinner there last night. Seating was available. Aside from golfers, no one else was in the dining room. Patrons were eating on the balcony. They had a hostess who was very young. Obviously inexperienced. When I tried to speak to her about a problem, she could smile, looked like she wanted to say something, but couldn't, except, 'I'll get my superior'. Who was a young lady perhaps in her 20's. As a "manager", and I use that term loosely, she did not take our concerns seriously. And did, in fact, smirk while discussing these concerns with her. The waitress was very nice. It was her 2nd day working there. Ok. But immediately we knew she was new and I doubt she had waitress experience. Not familiar with the menu. Kept running to check with someone else. The salmon, pork chop with apple demi glaze and smashed potatoes were good. The mixed vegetable medley was zucchini, squash and eggplant, probably roasted. It made the most unappealing presentation on the plate. It looked like rubber and was inedible. The waitress should have explained what the vegetable medley consisted of, i.e. not corn and peas etc. Bread was not served before the meal. I asked for warm bread and butter for the table. They "accommodated" the request bringing a cut-up toasted , what appeared to be, steak roll with rock hard butter. There were 4 young people working the dining room. Collectively, they could not provide decent service. I asked for the bill: more than $101.00
I took it to the desk where all 4 staff were standing, to ask why I received a bill for $101.00. The waitress panicked. It was an error.. The "manager" said yes, the cost went thru my credit card "but don't worry. I'm wiping it out. Charges don't go through until tonight. It will be fine"! Smirking the entire time, I asked the 'manager' why she found this funny. No apology and definitely no concern.
The so-called hostess who could smile but seemingly not be able to speak, used a broom to clean the floor near us. Then was cleaning windows on the door to the balcony seating.
The View at Morgan Hill has deteriorated into a low level eatery. The entire dining room staff was incompetent. We never received an apology for our negative experiences. I would recommend against eating there or having any kind of a celebratory party there. It's not even a semblance of what it used to be. It really deserves a negative...
Read moreI do NOT recommend The View for your event especially your wedding. Yes, it has an absolutely beautiful view for an outdoor ceremony but after our ceremony the service went downhill.
Communication before the wedding day was great up until after the ceremony, not sure where everyone went. My bridal attendant was not around, the banquet manager CJ was also not around to ensure the day ran smoothly.
Not sure about all the great reviews on The Knot or Wedding Wire, I did not receive that coordination or service from the manager or bridal attendant the day of after the ceremony but they did have time to take pictures at our Photo Booth.
The lack of attentiveness from the bridal attendant, uncoordinated timing, and food dissatisfaction--had a significant impact on our experience.
We were told by the Banquet Manager we didn't need to hire a day of coordinator as that was "her job", but as the bride I was wondering why dinner was late - I myself went to the kitchen/office to find out. I coordinated my own wedding with my amazing photographer as they failed to do so. I trusted the manager's words when she said it was her job to coordinate but where was she?
Thousands of dollars spent here and my entree - Autumn chicken was so dry. The Director of Events, Lisa, told me if I had said so the day of-- they could've taken it back to be redone -- but as I said no one was around to do this, or asked me how my food was, and nor should ANY bride have to do this. Also, the advertised "gourmet display of international cheeses" was a display of cubed cheese and saltine crackers, beware of false advertising there, too.
The two bartenders we had were amazing, great service from them! They made our "his & hers" drinks perfectly and were attentive to us and our guests at all times.
We drove an hour and a half to have our wedding at The View, and it's disheartening that we did not receive the level of service reflected in the venue's many positive reviews. This discrepancy leaves me questioning the integrity of the reviews on The Knot and Wedding Wire and whether others have had similar experiences.
Please take your hard earned money and pick another venue to have your events, they do not care once they have your money.
If you already booked your event/wedding -- get yourself an event coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly and accordingly so you can enjoy the day to the fullest, regardless of their lack of service...
