Awesome seafood cooked perfectly! 🍤 I have taken my wife there twice, she ordered the same dish, shrimp and scallop pasta, and I am going there again to get a photo before she is licking the bowl clean! 😋 My dishes have been just as good! Great place for locals and tourists alike. Back again, wife got the 'same dish', still awesome seafood! Tried the desserts this time. You probably don't need to bother, nothing special....keylime pie had no taste, carrot cake was dry and icing stiff & tasteless. But if you like seafood, you are in the right place!!! 😛 A small bump in the road; Once again at my "Go-to" Seafood place, my son got Tuna (perfect), wife still has tried nothing but Shrimp & Scallop Pasta, and I tried the "Special", grilled Cobia. There was not enough lemon or sauce to make this Cobia palatable! 😝 Luckily our server noticed my dilemma (without me saying a word) and brought the owner (walks the floor along with manager) who quickly made things right! All I can say is WOW!!! 🤯 I would give Service 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if I could!!! Once again the wife ordered Shrimp and Scallop Pasta; who would have guessed?!? My Wedge Salad was good along with...... Back again, wife got Shrimp and Scallop Pasta, 🙄 and "yours truly" enjoyed the Broiled Seafood Platter, a "tried and true" option. I wish I had read my review about service before leaving with a "less than optimal" experience! Easter holiday weekend and an early dinner (4:30) did not combine for a great meal. The scallop dinner was half great; the scallops and the broccoli 🥦 were spot-on, the baked potato 🥔 was horrible even for barely reheated leftovers and the corn muffins/hushpuppies were not fresh or hot! Just a suggestion; if the potatoes in the oven will not be ready until 5 or 5:30, put that notice in the menu! And it's nice to have a muffin or hushpuppy as an app (for free) but if it's not hot or fresh, what's the point 🤔!! So, take this critique for what it's worth, I didn't allow the manager to work his magic and make my meal exemplary 😔 as is the SOP! DON'T FORGET TO SAY SOMETHING!!! You'll be glad you did.....😁

First off, this area is gorgeous! As I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the manager and a chef sitting on the bench. Their interaction felt warm and friendly. The host was helpful in explaining my seating options. I chose to sit at the bar. The staff addressed me promptly with a menu. He brought a glass of water upon request. While reviewing the menu, the staff brought out a sample of their hush puppies and cornbread. I can’t lie! The food was hot and tasty! I ordered the shrimp basket with green beans and broccoli. Everything was very amazing! Once I checked out, the staff asked did I need change? I replied yes. My total was $20.15. I gave him $21. The staff was so focused on the tip that he gave me $.75 instead of $.85. I know you’re 🤔, it’s $.10. The $.10 matters! As a staff handling money, your draw show be accurate. Not over or under. All the money that’s over the balance due goes to the business, not the staff who took my extra money. This staff was flustered during my transaction. He had just closed out several customers and fixed multiple drinks while guiding a second staff. These are all valid reason to make a mistake, however; what will the manger do to ensure it doesn’t happen again? The staff can learn to be more patient with himself when handling multiple tasks. The staff can double check his change before handing back to the customer. The staff can ask for assistance from a colleague if he’s feeling overwhelmed. All in all, try the restaurant! Don’t miss happy hour from 2p-6p.

Expensive disappointment! I always like to start on a positive note... uhm... the soap in the men's room has a pleasant scent! And the service was pretty good. Now, about the food. Raw oysters... local. Very tasty. The peel & eat shrimp are served hot, tasty, good size, overcooked so tougher to peel than normal p&e shrimp. Coconut shrimp... fried too hot maybe - over crispy (burnt actually) and brown (not golden brown - just brown) on outside, underdone on inside. Surf & turf - Filet steak was tough and had no seasoning. Crab legs had a smell, one diner described as "like feet". Our diner who normally devours steak and crab legs didn't finish steak or crab legs. Lump crab cakes had plenty of lump crab meat, again cooked on outside but underdone inside. Fried Shrimp - described as "tastes like a musty basement smells" Our first clue should have been the empty parking lot when we arrived, but we were early around 4:30 on weeknight. Our second clue was the bad smell when we were led into the back dining room. Drinks- wine was decent. Vienna lager beer served cold and tasted great. This place has tons of great reviews so not sure why we had such a bad experience. Maybe short staffed in the kitchen? I just realized after writing this that the only thing that was acceptable were the raw oysters - something the cooks didn't touch. Maybe they need new cooks - and fast! Most places I would consider giving a second chance. But there were way too many issues to even think about going back.

On our first evening of staying in Williamsburg on vacation my wife and I decided to go to this restaurant for dinner after a long drive from home. When we arrived I went in to see how long the wait would be and the gentleman informed me that it would be 5 minutes. After bringing my entire party of 5 inside we were immediately seated. I was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the entire staff that I encountered. Our waitress was a very friendly girl from Lithuania! Upon placing our order I was expecting a long wait because of how busy it was, but our food came very quickly. I ate the surf and turf (with crab legs), green beans and baked macaroni and cheese. My entire meal was absolutely delectable! The medium filet melted in my mouth, the green beans were fresh and cooked perfectly, and the mac and cheese was delicious! But the crown jewel of my dish, the crab legs, were (for lack of a better word) PREFECT! Each crack of the shells allowed the juicy meat to slide effortlessly out of the shell, and the melted butter/lemon juice that I dipped the crab meat into introduced a very unique yet enjoyable mixture of sweet and tangy to the already delicious crab meat. My only regret was that I only have so much room in my stomach, otherwise I would have kept eating! You owe it to yourself to visit this establishment when ever you are anywhere near Williamsburg! Your taste buds will thank you!

This place was amazing, YEARS ago. For what we paid this evening, and the "lack of" quality of the food, we could have eaten at iHop for a fraction of the price and received a better meal. The service was amazing as was the atmosphere. The gulf shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. The oysters on the half shell were amazing (really hard to mess those up). The surf and turf ordered medium rare came out medium well and rubbery lacking seasoning. The lobster tail was spot on/good. The baked potato was overcooked and dry. As you can see in the picture, the kitchen couldn't even be bothered to take the time for simple presentation to get the square piece of cheese onto the round burger. I was hoping the Yelp reviews over the past year were just plain wrong since we had such fond memories of the food the last time we were here years ago on vacation, alas the reviews were correct. There needs to be SERIOUS changes made in the kitchen for this place to continue to survive given all the choices in the Williamsburg area. I've honestly eaten better meals in third world countries out of an MRE bag that was sitting in the hot sun for days, while riding in the back of a vehicle getting shot at, than the food my family paid almost $300 for this evening at Fat Tuna. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere until the owner gets the kitchen straightened out, hopefully soon.
