Today we tried to eat lunch at Sushiya, where we have enjoyed many lunches and some carry out. The three of us walked in, and there was no staff around. Everyone knows every place is understaffed. So after waiting a bit, we seated ourselves. And I picked up some menus for us. I thought I was helping the one server, who already had several parties to wait on and a carry out order to handle.
Well, when she appeared in the dining room again, I asked her if we had the lunch menus. All of the sudden, she starts fussing at me in her broken English through her mask, saying “be patient! Be patient!!” And I responded that I was just trying to help her. So my husband said “you shouldn’t talk to your customers this way”. Then he asked her if she’d like us to leave, and she hesitated, as if she wanted to say yes.
So the three of us got up from the table and headed to the door, during which time the server followed us to the door, complaining to us the entire time. Very strange behavior. I guess they don’t need our business!
Save the nasty antics for nasty customers, not the ones who are trying to help by...
Read moreI've been ordering take out for the last 7 years I've lived in Williamsburg. Highly recommend the dynamite and Jamestown specialty rolls. :) I've never dined in but heard their service is nice. The reason I'm giving a 3 instead of a 5 rating is because the last two times I've called to place my order (2 month timeline), I've had to ask for help w the specialty sushi menu because their "View la carte menu" link on their lunch menu is dead. However, the phone was handed to 3 different people to take the order, and the last woman took a rude tone about how they are too busy to spend this much time on the phone. When I asked if they were going up fix the sushi menu link, she told me the sushi menu was online, which I know to be false as of this review and false since my last order 2 months ago. Apparently they're busy enough to afford losing my business, which is too bad. They aren't the only sushi business in town, and their sushi isn't so different from standard sushi fare. Those two rolls were pretty baller, and that's...
Read moreBuckel in this is a long ride. Fam and I vacation in this location often. I am bothered by the fact that no one deliveres nor is open past 9pm. It is like visiting BFE. I ordered sushi for pickup, 30 mins away, to find out we didn't receive Wasabi! Thats 1hr round trip.. SMH. Not happy. Called and in a mood let loose. To be fair it was an honest mistake. The most amazing wife ever went back and asked for a side of Wasabi without stating my outburst. They recognized her and not only gave her the Wasabi but also doubled our order. What would have been a poor post has turned into one of the best experiences in customer service I have had in some time. This is not to diminish the excellent sushi Sushiya always has. I want to personally say thank you to the staff. This place makes great food and obviously putting up with me knows their customer...
