I hired Coleman's Nursery to design and install landscaping to mitigate the void created by the removal of two dead oak trees in my back yard. They were prompt to meet with me, but it took a while to get a proposal. When they implemented their design, I realized I made a bad decision selecting them. It was--at best--an amateur landscaping feature. In fact, it was an embarrassment. I hoped the spindly plants and tree they planted would look better in the spring, but they didn't. Management from Colemans wouldn't meet with me on site. Instead they came and looked at the problem landscaping when I wasn't home. They admitted the plants they selected for the feature weren't doing well because it was too wet, but proposed replacing them in kind.

Read moreWe hired Coleman Nursery to do the landscaping in our front yard after we bought our house and inherited a bunch of overgrown, dead shrubs. They did an excellent job of keeping things low-maintenance for us, as requested, and found plants that would give us year-round color. We worked with Brian, and he helped us choose trees that were meaningful to my husband and me because of where we each grew up. Brian walked through the nursery with me so he could make sure I liked the shrubs he was considering for our yard. For every step of the way, if we had questions, he was happy to answer. The team that installed our plants worked quickly and did a great job as well. We were blown away by the transformation in our yard, and many of our neighbors complimented it as well. My only complaint is that they didn’t install a weed liner in the new flower bed they put in, so we had trouble with crab grass. Six months later, we’re still thrilled with the...
Read morePromising but disappointing nursery. This place has a quaint barn as the retail shop with some farm foods for sale. Plants are well displayed and in good shape. Unfortunately, the selection is quite limited to the most popular plants. Normally, only one variety of a plant type is available. They have a fairly decent selection of larger plants (4-6 foot) and trees but again limited by varieties. So much potential. I suppose this is limited by current shopper volume. Very limited hours, particularly on weekends. Limited staff. Often only one retail clerk running the cash register. Prices are on the high side. What is it with the lack of quality nurseries in the Williamsburg area? Landscaping is...
