This was my first time. My husband drove me two hours away from home to try this place because he and his best friend happened to stop in one afternoon, he has always told me he was taking me when he had time off. After eating his leftovers from there.. I knew why.
The place is not what I expected. From the outside it looks like another white country building. Walking in you get a quite relaxed feeling. I can happily say I made it all the way through a dinner in a restaurant with other people around us and I was not feeling anxious or out of place. Bathroom even have family one, womens cleanest place I seen ,oh and for emergency employees have a jar of products so shout out to owners...yay!
I'm sorry but I don't remember the middle age blonde women who was our superwoman . I ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta with side salad. I politely informed of tomato allergy. she politely as it should be .. no tomato on anything. Yes. I don't know what they do to the sauce but the cream sauce puts the olive place to shame. The chicken was fork tender and juicy. Oh I added broccoli to mine with an upcharge ,you could tell the broccoli was way over cooked but I still enjoyed the flavor of the meal. Husband ordered steak with spinach and pasta...not sure of name of it. All I know is for a man to hate spinach, he ate the spinach in this. He only eates ceaser salad so there is an upcharge for that but it is also a bit bigger then the side salad. The bread they offer is ok, I'm just not a bread person. We both ordered sweet tea. Tea had that just the right amount of sugar not syrup and not water and he ordered a painkiller drink. It was a very strong(to me) tropical cream drink..it was good just I don't drink anymore. The amount of food given we both had enough to do takeout boxes ..plus they give you a plastic bag for your boxes. Already told the husband this place will work for...
Read moreThis was our 3rd time coming but this time it was for a birthday dinner for our teen daughter. We called and made a reservation for my husband and I, our 4 kids, and 2 grandparents. Upon arrival, I was told there would be a $10 cake fee to eat our homemade cake that we brought. Ridiculous!!!! I told them I was not made aware of that and did not want to pay that. I asked if that was because they sold cakes and they said "no". They don't even sell cake!! So why am I going to pay you a $10 fee to eat my own cake?! I even brought my own dessert plates so what's it to them if I bring my homemade cake? This place is ridiculous and unaccommadating. Although our waitress was nice, there seemed to be a lot of attitude from staff. On my bill, they still charged me the $10 fee plus an 18% gratuity. I won't be back. Also, my mother, who had asked for more rolls and was never brought any, asked the waitress again at the end of the meal for bread. They charged her for it on her bill. Another detail...this place does not have straws, which is not commendable. Seems like by saving money on straws and other things, they could afford to not charge people for bringing in a cake or getting 2 rolls brought to their table. Smh. Overall, I found this place not only overpriced (meals range from $15-$30+ per person), but they seem to be rude and money hungry. We will not be back and I will be passing this information on to several platforms and by word of mouth. There are MANY other places to eat that are just as good, and better, for a better price without charging customers outlandish fees. By this measure, I don't...
Read moreThis was my first visit. There aren't a lot of choices in town so I wanted to try somewhere I hadn't been. The parking lot was loaded. That was a good sign. I went in and most tables were occupied. Another good sign. After about a 5 minute wait I was greeted with a smile and seated. I asked another customer what they would recommend and one of the items was the lunch special for the day. I had hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and string beans. They also have complimentary rolls. They were buttery garlicy and fresh from the oven. I ate 5. It's okay. They weren't that big. The hamburger steak was well seasoned but were more done than I like. The string beans and mashed potatoes needed more salt but were fine when I added more. The potatoes were buttery and the beans tasted fresh. There were chunks of meat in them, ham hock according to the menu. Dessert and a drink were included with the meal, which doesn't happen at other restaurants. The dessert was a tiny sweet potato pie. It was just the right size. I left there feeling full but not stuffed. The next time I'm in town I will try a different meal. This one was a good choice and was only $10. Not bad for a meal, drink, and dessert. The fast food places cost more than that now and I can't think of one place that...
