Okay, let me start this review by stating I'm a Biker and retired Sailor so I've been in some really sketchy bars in my life.
Bartenders are friendly; pours are really good and they have an excellent selection of beers and spirits.
I shoot pool here. They have two tables, both very good, $1.50 per game.
Behind the main bar and pool area is a large hall. This past year they hosted a Marine Corps Birthday Bash which was EXCELLENT. I hope they do it again.
The sketchy part? Well as a former Fire Code Inspector, all I could do was shake my head. The ceiling over the main bar sags about six to eight inches, lighting is inadequate, electrical wiring is a nightmare, inadequate EXIT signs, I saw only one fire extinguisher and it was not located at an exit. The good news is the extinguisher is an in date ABC type. No installed fire suppression system, i.e., sprinklers. This building was probably built before they were required.
There is adequate parking but it is a dirt lot.
Like many bars, taverns, pubs, saloons, Midway Junction is a non-smoking facility.
Do I still come here? Yes, but you can bet I KNOW where ALL...
