Review based on a visit on Aug 25 2015 (my first visit here).
I tend to love this kind of burger joint, in general. I love that some of them still exist. The people were friendly. The place is old, but it is clean. I like the fact that it doesn't seem to have changed much. A throwback to times past.
When you give your order in the drive-thru, you are giving it to a live person in a window, so that's nice.
Pizza burger is $3.39, and is apparently very popular... which is why I tried it. It reminded me of meatloaf with cheese on it. And since I'm not a fan of meatloaf, I didn't like it at all. Also tried bacon cheeseburger ($4.29), which just seemed average. If you name your store "Burger Boy", your cheeseburgers really should be great.
Cheeseburger Deal: burger, french fries, and medium drink is $5.69.
I arrived at lunch time. It took a very long time to get my food. The line in the store was very short when I arrived (maybe two people in front of me), but the drive thru line was full. There were also three people that came after me that had similar orders as I did, who got their orders way before me.
Maybe the pizza burger is what took so long to cook. I dunno. Others seem to like this place, so maybe my cheeseburger just wasn't made very well that day. I want these kinds of places to stay in business so much that maybe I'll revisit some day and give their cheeseburger another shot.
Pros: Friendly service, love that you feel like you're stepping back in time. Cons: Mediocre food, long wait (this...
Read moreAlways drove past this place and never stopped in but today I dropped in and very happy I did. This was a great decision; well worth the money on my burger, fry, and chocolate shake. If you want a nice sit down, let me wait on you, this isn't the place. The service in my opinion is tailored to get you in, pay for your meal, get you out. It's ok for me as long as the meal us good and mine was. The fries were hot and tasty with the right amount of salt. The burger was made as I requested and they were a little light in the onion but it was still good. The masterpiece of my meal was the chocolate shake. It was so thick, the person turned it upside down and it stayed in the cup. It was a nice meal all around. I advising take a short time away from the McDonald's, who are busy putting those kiosks in that those customers who don't wash their hands in the bathroom paw over, and come here. Yes, not all smiles and welcoming you but...
Read moreThey charged me $12.75 for a fish sandwich, small fries, large drink, and a small milk shake. Not to mention that I was also charged an extra $1.05 for 2 pickles, 1 tomato slice, and 2 small slivers of iceburg lettuce, and 1 slice of cheese to go on top of the under-cooked fish patty. After biting into the sandwich and realizing that it was not cook thoroughly, I took it back. I was refunded a partial refund. I didn't get my money back for the pickles, tomato, lettuce or cheese. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease. My wife could not finish her "milkshake," because it had an aftertaste and was really an iceshake. I'm kinda feeling nauseated as I type this review. I will NOT be coming back to this establishment again. I posted some pics of my meal and receipt. I hope that this review is as non-opinionated as it could be - just stating the facts of...
