I visited today the first time dining in for lunch. I follow this restaurant on Facebook , so I've been wanting to give this place a try. I absolutely love good ole country cooking , country cooking with flavor 😋 so that being said let's get Into it . The atmosphere is good. It had a good vibe dining in the buffet should be a bit bigger with more space to get around the line. It can get busy in a hurry, so a bit more space would be beneficial. The servers are wonderful, everyone so kind, and made sure you had what you needed . Let's get down to the food , the menu today was fried pork chops, fried chicken, rice , black-eyed peas , yams , etc. I ate all of those I named it all had flavor the pork chop and yams we're my favorite the seasoning on the pork chop was so crispy and tender 😋 the sweet tea was also delicious that's some good southern sweet tea not many people know how to make sweet tea so I was pleased 👌
However their is a bit of disappointment 😕 the one thing that I was dissatisfied with was the Banna Pudding 😞 the reason is , I don't like hot pudding. I like my Pudding cold and it was not that . The Banna Pudding was actually hot to touch. I'm a huge Banna Pudding lover. I have had many around the triangle area and only found one that I absolutely love . If it were cold I'm sure it would have been good. I just don't like Hot Pudding . Overall, the food was delicious, and my family and I will be back to enjoy other things...
Read moreI really wish my experience with the food was better. Everything else about the restaurant is very rustic and homey and lives up to their name. Maybe it was just an off day for the food as I did get there at 1 pm for the buffet and got a to go plate. I don’t think I loaded it up too much but the price was $18 for lunch which gave me sticker shock as the buffet is all you can eat and $13. Oh well. Would have been worth it I guess to support a local establishment except the food wasn’t appealing. My portions were small. I had super dry chicken breast that was caked in bbq sauce although the sauce helped me not to choke on it too much. The butter beans were over salted as was the banana pudding make them inedible. Hushpuppies were ok. I had a small scoop of white rice that was over boiled and wet. I did have two small pieces of tenderloin w gravy which is not common for me but this was very tender and tasty.
If I go back I will stick w the tenderloin and gravy. In the past I had the baked spaghetti and it was awesome. My advice choose your days to go as they do have some tasty dishes but today wasn’t the day and more of my fault as had I known what was on the buffet I may have held off

Read moreThe food is like what your grandma cooked Monday-Friday, Sunday is like her Sunday dinner. The ribs are fall off the bone tender and the chicken salad is the best I've ever had. The desserts are just as good.
Edit: From 5 star to 1 star, I can't make it a 0. It used to be like the above comments before it was sold. All I'm going to say is, when your significant other says, "Don't get the chicken, it's rubbery and greasy," believe them. I then went back for a chicken wing. Until then, I didn't know you could screw up frying a chicken wing. I guess they changed the cooking oil and what was in the breading, plus the method of frying.
When you buy a business and change the what and how people have become accustomed to eating quality food to save a buck, don’t be surprised at poor reviews. BTW, there's no chicken salad on the...
