Trying takeout for a third time late July 2022, the most well received item was the calzone with cheese and sausage. A repeat of the buffalo chicken grinder was still good. The meatball grinder was a pass. Anytime a meatball grinder does not have actual meatballs but slices of a meat loaf instead, is not something I'd reorder. Still, if in the area and familiar with the menu, there is something to buy that's worth the money. # A second dinner here since they are open on Mondays and we thought we'd try something else from their menu. The lasagna did not have any meat - good for vegetarians! - as well as most pasta dishes. I just had spaghetti and meatballs the night before, so we decided to try two grinders. The buffalo chicken was packed with tender meat that had just the right amount of heat. Definitely worth ordering again. The ham did not have much meat in comparison, though in all fairness, I've noted most of the pizza places we frequent have cut down on the amount of ham they used to put into this grinder. Polite staff. # Living in the area for over 15 years, hungry and not wanting to drive far, I finally had ABC pizza. The restaurant is a casual place. Great for low key diners. Ordering red wine while we waited, it was appropriately chilled. Too many establishments think red wine should be served room temperature and just leave the bottles on the counter. We wanted the bone-in chicken wings but they were sold out. Settling for the boneless ones, they were flat, lightly fried, seasoned and tender. Nice. The ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side was thin. Our meat lovers pizza with hamburger, pepperoni, sausage and bacon had generous toppings that along with the sauce were all well seasoned. The dough was odd. It seemed to be in some preformed mold. Totally tasteless with no blistering, char or visible handmade shape. ABC has pasta dinner items, too. A neighboring table had lasagna or something similar that looked good, and it came with salad. I can't comment on their grinders, not having tried one. This is another place where it would be helpful to know the menu. Rating: 3.8

I came into Winsted to attend an event and I have never been back to ABC pizza in over two decades. One of the item on my agenda was to grab dinner here. I have always held their pizza at the highest level and for all other pizza places to beat! In over two decades I have never found anybody. As I walked in and looked around, the place has not changed one bit at all since I started going there since the 80’s. They still had the jukebox since the 80’s sitting in the back wall. The place had the same great smell of Greek pizza! The server working there was just very nice! We ordered a large sausage, pepper and mushroom pizza. They bought it out quickly and I was so excited to get the first bite of the pizza that I was craving for and what I had remembered. Overall it was delicious! However, they did change a little bit of the recipe. The crust was thicker and had a harder crunch to it. I loved it when the crust was thinner and was not as crunchy. I had always love their ground sausage with fennel seeds and the unique flavors of spices they put into it. This time the flavor was similar but they took the fennel seeds which was a big disappointment for me. I think they used leaner cuts as it was not as greasy. The sauce and cheese didn’t change and were spot on. So I was partially disappointed as it wasn’t the same exact pizza that I had remembered from a long time ago but I still give them five stars for still being a very good pizza. Abc has a good following of customers who also said that their subs/grinders still remain to be one of the best. I highly recommend for you to try this place for good Greek salad, subs, and for their pizza.

This was a last resort meal option for me since I didn't bring enough food with me to work on this day. I got a chicken Parm grinder. Marinara had no flavor, very acidic, I don't think they make it themselves, if they do, they need a new recipe. The chicken was not breaded. My stomach has not been feeling good since I ate it 2 hours ago. I get a chicken Parm grinder once a month from the place near where I live in southern CT, and have never had this feeling after eating a chicken Parm grinder before. There's not many options in town as it is, but spend your money else where.

The locals may think it's good but our several visits always turn out disappointmenting. Cleanliness is first thing. Dirty tables, floors and front door could use some cleaning. The ordered food, pasta was overcooked with a cheap jar sauce taste. The meatball grinder- the same. I gave it to my dog. My daughter ordered a gyro sandwich. Far from authentic. Meat shaved so thin and filled with olives, way too many tomatoes and with potato chips and feta cheese? It was. served flat and open so the super cold fixings removed all heat that may have been there. Eating it cold was terrible It's not presented well and it wasn't folded and wrapped properly. The tziki sauce tasted like paste and lackedthat fresh taste. I really don't like the write bad reviews but this restaurant is not authentic in any way. The waitress was attentive but the ones that think they're cooks should retire. The locals might enjoy this place but our family agreed. Four thumbs down. The cheap low quality rug like pizza cheese was like eating gum.It doesn't melt in your mouth. We skipped that too. We have tried several times in hope it would improve but it lacks, taste, quality and is not authentic. It's a faux Italian, Greek restaurant that knows very little on how to cook and present food. Our take out orders always disappoint so we will never return. A supermarket store bought pizza was ten times better. This review was only the facts, not an opinion. What junk. Pizza served on a dirty cardboard box. No white clean wax paper underneath....
