McDonald's — Restaurant in Winchester

I was told by multiple McDonalds employees in Winchester forces their employees to go to work with covid and flu symptoms and tells them to just wear a mask.

When I tried to call this morning to ask if the rumor I heard was true the lady denied it at first trying to reassure me that nobody sick was there making food and then when I expressed being told otherwise got uncomfortably defensive about it saying that technically if the employees wear a mask they can come in and work sick and then proceeded the conversation rudely and sarcastically. I called back to get a corporate number and she refused to give it to me, a manager from another restaurant called them for me and got it without any issue.

I talked to another manager later in the afternoon to talk to the General manager and I called him by name and this manager asked who I was and the reason for my call I told him that I was a customer calling for a complaint and I wanted to speak with him personally. Apparently the general manager doesn’t take personal complaint calls 😂 so I tell him what little information and efforts I’ve already made to figure this all out and so I spoke with the assistant manager.

Steve was advised of the information but wanted names of the employees I was referring to that I had heard these rumors from and didn’t want to talk until I gave them up. Put me on hold and then got disconnected.

This isn’t the only business that does this, and I am well aware that there are people that take advantage of policies and I understand that they need reliable people but so do our families!! This GM either needs to step up or step down. How the hell you gonna tell employees they have to come into work get up and all around their coworkers and FOOD regardless of mask wearing.

I’m curious how many people would consciously and willingly eat food that was prepared by someone who’s got flu, cause if I KNEW they were sick after I ate that food I’d be pissed. I don’t even want their pies anymore. The service they’re currently providing is truly sickening.

However there’s a friend that manages and I think does a fantastic job as a manager and friend and I don’t want this to reflect onto her in any way she’s good in my book Shannon Keister very family oriented leader, and great example of how the world...

6/29/25 order blueberry pies, completely cold. Why not put them away when they come out of the oven? Instead you let them sit and get cold and use them regardless . I’m so sick of waste ting money here.

Update on 6/23/25. Still the same awful place. 6 cars in the drive through and every single one was pulled. Why? The gm here is an imbecile. How in the world he has a job is astonishing. Take a problem to him and he tells you “have a good day”. Ignores you completely. The drive through is a nightmare. Food is sloppy, old, not fresh 90 percent of the time.

Update 10/31/23 GOD AWFUL, SAT IN LINE 40 MINUTES, GOT OLD FRIES, OLD BURGER MEAT, I CANNOT BELEIVE MY FOOD TASTED OLD. NOT HOT LIKE IT SHOULD BE AT ALL. UNREAL Update 9/30/2023 This place is even worse, the drive through has to be the worst in Indiana. They made a “double drive thru “ for speed, but done nothing but slow them down. Order extra cheese on my McGriddles and NEVER get the extra . This is getting annoying.

Absolutely terrible. Waited half hour for an iced coffee. Ordered large and paid for large and they gave me a small full of ice and literally was gone in 3 drinks. Pretty sure this is fraud even though no one sees it like that. This happens any time I order there. I am done going. Just a mistake? but how many mistakes are made a day? Might not seem like a big deal to them, but it is when you are having a bad day and money is already tight for people. Will stick to small businesses, places that actually care and tries not to short people nor their time.
