Great options, clever names, plenty of space for kids to be kids while having yummy ice cream. Good sizing and very tasty!

The pricing on the menu does not match what was showing up on the screen and charge to me. When I asked the cashier, she asked another employee who came over and explained it doesn’t include the 8% sales tax. I should’ve gotten my paper receipt, but I at least took a quick picture of the price being charged to me. I wasn’t going to make a big deal on a nice Saturday afternoon, but you should know you are being overcharged on each and every item. I went home and use my calculator and I was charged five cents in addition to the 8% sales tax for each item. I’ve included the pictures of the menu as well as what showed up on the screen for at least two of my items. It adds up. Prices can be raised, but transparency is vital. Don’t cheat customers and expect them not to do math.

Editing to say I cannot add pictures or at least I can’t figure out how. The menu said a medium cycle is $5.98. I was charged $6.50. The menu said the peanut butter field was $6.90 and I was...

The Dairy Queen near us closed for good, and our local ice cream shop usually only carries the same 10 flavors all summer. Imagine my delight when just on a whim, we took a swing at the Ice Cream Dugout. They seem to be a mainstay for both locals and tourists alike. The place offers treats that remind you of DQ and premium ice cream places. We thought it was a bigger ice cream company making the variety of flavors, and were surprised to see Shaker Pond Ice cream listed on their website as their ice cream provider. They accept cards! Yay!

I got a big sundae, my husband got a frappe, and the kids had a sherbet and a sorbet. Everyone was happy! Glad to see more than 3 soft serve flavors on the menu! Their banana splits also seem popular, I saw two other tables with customers digging into one. Worth the stop on the way to or from the...

The Ice Cream Dugout is terrible when it comes to the Brownie and ice cream cup. No matter how many time I go there the serving ratio Brownie to ice cream is childish. Each time I ask that the serving be more appropriate and am handed the same child like serving. Yet many other localilocal cream places serve up a more adult size and ratio of Brownie to ice cream. Then, to add insult soft serve is placed on the order despite requesting a real scoop flavor. I have had my fill with Ice Cream Dugout disappointment. It is a tourist trap, even for those of us localswlocals are not in the family and...

The ice cream dugout is located in Windham, Maine. It is approximately 40 minutes outside of the city of Portland. The menu includes an array of tasty treats, including 20+ different ice cream flavors. If you want something a bit more extravagant, then go for one of their specialty sundaes. You will notice their ice cream and sundaes have a baseball theme. That is because there are batting cages located right next door. You can thus take a few swings before then rewarding yourself with some ice cream. I ordered a maple walnut cone (and it was DELICIOUS), but best believe I will be back for one of their banana splits.

Our family loves the Ice Cream Dugout! It's a clean family environment with delicious tasting ice cream. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. there's so many flavors to pick from and each one is just as delicious as the next! With that being said, their soft serve is to die for. It's my go to every time! All you have to do is pair the soft serve with one of their fresh baked waffle cones and you will be in heaven! Lastly, I will add that their prices are hands-down better than any other local ice cream establishment in the area.
