Oliver's Dairy Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Windham

We had such high hopes this season! We actually ate here the first season they opened and it was just "ok," so we figured it was their first run, we'll give it another shot. We were sadly disappointed 😞 Our kids mini "cheeseburger" meal was an overcooked hockey puck of a burger on a kaiser roll cut to size, with NO cheese. My turkey burger was flavorless and dry and my husband's burger was so overcooked he had to load it up with condiments. Our fries were beyond crispy and very salty. Figuring maybe food isn't their forte, we ordered icecream. Our kids scooped chocolate icecream cups came out very quickly, but the 2 milkshakes we ordered (at the same time) came out more than 20 minutes later. That was only after my husband asked about them. (Pretty sure they forgot!) After all that waiting my milkshake was very thin, reminiscent of a thick chocolate milk. On top of that, no animals this year and the play area consisted of a slide and a few swings. The atmosphere has so much promise, beautifully landscaped, great seating at the picnic tables and nice staff, unfortunately everything else left more to be desired. If you’re looking for great food and ice cream, look no further! Oliver’s Dairy Bar & Grill did not disappoint. I was visiting from out of state and was very impressed with the food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. The owner, Cindy, greeted me with a warm smile and held a conversation as if she’s known me forever. I love how personable she is! All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a great first experience here. I ordered a variety of food during my visit. Pictured is the maple bacon cheddar burger with onion rings, grandma’s potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and clam strips with homemade tartar sauce. I ended my evening with an enormous classic banana split. Literally everything was very tasty. You can taste the freshness almost immediately. I enjoyed watching a live band while enjoying a delicious meal with good company. I could not have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend that you stop by and give Oliver’s a try! We visited Oliver’s last night to listen to live music out on the back lawn and have dinner. I was quite pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. I ordered whole-bellied clams and I have to say they were the best that I have ever eaten. They were large and the batter was light and flaky . My wife had an excellent lobster roll. They have a good selection of beer and wine on the menu, including a half dozen or so craft beers. They have put in a new sidewalk in the back as well as a nice stage with lighting for the live music. Last night’s music was provided by Dinosaurs After Dark with Bruce John, who put together an awesome performance of oldies. Well worth a visit!
