In the past I went to a restaurant in Columbia called Dickies BBQ so when I saw this restaurant I was excited to go because it was similar... Should have turned around and left as soon as we walked in and realized that there was only one person working ... But we gave it a chance... Our order was taken by someone who wasn't even supposed to be there but was helping while waiting for her food. The cook started and we went to our table to wait. Someone else came in soon and his order was also taken and sent to kitchen.. lady leaves and everything is left to the cook... 20 minutes into waiting a third customer comes in and cook comes out of kitchen to take that order and returns to kitchen another 15 minutes wait and the cook comes out with all 3 orders... Our food the first ordered now well over half hour ago is very underwhelming.. my fries are cold and greasy.. my cheese hash browns cold and chunky.. my meat was dry with unrendered Sticky fat on it... My husband's food was very much the same .. while we ate another customer came in and tried to order several things before coming to something they weren't "out of". At 1230... I told my husband well that explains it.. everything we were just given was yesterdays food .. I am very disappointed.. my favorite style of restaurant but I can never go there again....
And the really irritating thing of this all is we spent more money than we normally would have on a meal out had to pay upfront and tip ahead of time for service we probably wouldn't have dipped so high for... plus pay a fee on top of all that for...
Read moreFood and Staff is 10 of 10!! Do not be turned off by the exterior. (My husband almost didn't go in, but he was happy I made him, after he took his first bite!) We went on a Sunday, and we were so impressed that we took some family back on Tuesday! Prices are very reasonable for the quantity of food. This is our new favorite BBQ. It is suggested to call ahead to see if they are sold out of anything. We got lucky they had ribs both times.. but they were sold out of Brisket the second visit, so we got the pulled pork, and it did not disappoint!! My son ordered the Mooing Pig and 10/10 for the burger, too!!! Grilled cheese was nice for a kids' meal option! It's so good and everyone is so friendly. Looking forward to taking more family and friends! Full Rack - $25 Pulled Pork - $7 Mooing Pig - $10 Grilled Cheese -...
Read moreNice to have a '"real" BBQ joint that's local. Brisket was melt in your mouth tender, moist, yet still held up when sliced. Not an easy task. Small but acceptable sauce selection that is both great and unique. The North Carolina vinegar is second to none that I've had in a restaurant. Beans were also both different and great. Anxious to go back and try whatever's available for the day. Heads up, BBQ is served fresh and when it's gone it's gone so don't be surprised if certain items on the menu aren't available. This isn't Bandana's. Fries left a bit to be desired. I'll blame the daytime cooks, because the man pulling the all nighters to cook the meat obviously knows his stuff. Will up to 5 if the fries are...
