Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Wingate

The Pizza Hut that I went to is located on a college campus and uses the college-specific currency as a form of payment. I called ahead of time to ask if they were accepting that form of payment at this time, due to classes not starting up yet to which they responded yes. I would not have ordered otherwise, because I have a large amount of this college-specific currency and not a lot of other forms of payment. So I order online for carryout and arrive at 4:15. I go to my student ID to pay with the college-specific currency, and I am told that I am not allowed to use this form of payment. I explain the situation to the person taking up my order, however, I am still told that I am not allowed to use this form of payment until a later date. Although upset, there were other people waiting for their food, and I did not want to cause a scene, so I pay $20.28 for my food and head back to my apartment. When I get back I go to eat my food (I ordered a Large stuffed crust cheese, and cheese sticks) and I get Pepperoni and cheese sticks instead. My wife, 1 year old daughter and I recently had covid (no major issues from it) , being out of work put us a little behind financial,. my wife and I have had a long week back at work and decide to get delivery and splurge a little even with the money being tight. I called in the big box order and added a few extra toping with my military discount they gave it to me for $13 and some change rendering the discount at 50% off. I said wow, the girl sounded young and I said you should check again that doesn't sound right, she replied I spoke to my manager and confirmed half off is correct.

Lacks human decency. Tipped 20% on a carry out order with two sauces and she viciously argued about it, told me to “smile” and switched the story a couple of times all in an effort to avoid giving a customer food they paid for, and had proof for.

I don’t regret tipping. I regret going there at all. The cult of leadership she places upon that place is negatively impacting the lives of her employees and the brand, all of which comes before the customer experience.
