Blue Note Restaurant — Restaurant in Winsted

My wife and I stopped here for dinner the other night before an appointment. I had been here one other time for a concert years ago in the backroom and figured it would just be your average bar food.

I was impressed with their menu and ended up with their standard burger and chips. When it arrived I was shocked, the thing was HUGE! Every component of the burger was awesome, the bun was sturdy, the lettuce and tomato were fresh and the actual burger patty was at least half a pound and tasty.

I'm usually not one who cares for the house chips, but theirs were awesome, I made sure to take the ones I couldn't finish with us to go. Heck even the plates were nice and classy.

The service was friendly, it did take a while for the food to come, but with the state of the world, you can't hold it against a place for running short staffed, especially during the week. We told them we were in a hurry and they made sure to bring our tab with the food so we could eat and pay quickly.

I was seriously impressed and definitely plan...

Never will give my money here again. I respectfully called and asked about their Mac n bites , if they have pork inside because it’s not stated on their menu , even for vegetarians and people with allergies it should be. But when they finally admit that there is bacon in them , I mentioned they should probably have that on the menu . They were very dismissing of the situation that I just ingested pork ( which makes people who don’t it sick) which is against my faith. They very unapologetic and didn’t even offer anything to me . So the kicker is , I asked if I could at least be refunded for them since I can’t eat them and the girl literally said well idk I would have to ask . Like I just spent over a hundred bucks supporting your business and you can’t give me the money back for something I can’t eat ? Definitely not customer service and I definitely be calling around to see if this is even legal to not have it properly stated...

My wife and went here last night with my parents. My sister and brother in law were there too. My sister and brother in law ordered prime rib rib about 5 minutes before we got there. Then my parents ordered. For whatever reason the waitress took off and brought our drinks out and then took our order. My sister and brother in law were done eating before my parents got their food. My parents were done eating and we still didn't get our food. So we left. I did get the salad bar and it was not very good either. The salad was all thick stock parts and the center core parts. Got some herring and it was soft and slimy. My parents eat there every once in a while and they have had pretty good experiences here. I don't know what happened last night but it wasn't...
