Outside dining and ambiance was fabulous! 2. Small appetizer and main dish portions for high price! Expensive. $60 per person without alcohol. 3. Delicious large desserts. 4. But the servers were CLUELESS about food allergies and seemed 100% annoyed about having to answer our food allergy questions and couldn't and didn't look at any ingredient labels. They knew that we had multiple allergies at our table including a nut allergy which is potentially very severe and they just slapped down bread on the table with no explanation as to whether there were nuts in it. When asked (more than one staff was asked too), they threw up their hands and said it was a "may contain" so just don't eat it when they even had white bread option in the back. Very disappointed that staff there do not seem to be trained about how to cater to customers with food allergies or intolerances and then to be rude about it is even worse. They also do not know the ingredients in the food that they are serving. You all must do better in order to stay relevant.

RESPONSE TO RESTAURANT OWNER COMMENTS BELOW: Thank you for your response. It was the way the staff responded to our food allergy and dietary queries more so than the fact that they didn't know and didn't try to find out the answers. Please note that we ordered when the restaurant was fairly empty soon after it opened for dinner. Following the 6 P's (proper prior planning prevents poor performance), other restaurants have allergens noted on their menus so that they are prepared for whatever the customers' needs are. That is what makes the difference. Thank you for striving to offer outstanding...

The restaurant was pretty busy but was able to squeeze us in last minute, which was appreciated. The seating was very tight and we were close to the surrounding tables, to the point where we could clearly hear their conversations and barely understand each other across the table. The service was good, although the waitress disappeared often and was difficult to flag down. The overall atmosphere was cozy but plain. The bigger disappointment was the food. Their "seafood chowder" was literally just fish soup - blended salmon and soup, with some potato and clam chunks in it. The short ribs were delicious, but the grilled filet mignon was mediocre. It was ordered medium rare, but charred way too much, giving it a very distinct, bad aftertaste. We ordered dessert to try and make up for the meal - the "homemade" chocolate cobbler thing (pictured below). It was more like chocolate syrup with an oatmeal crumble, scoop of ice cream, and berries on top, and it would've been fine if the chocolate wasn't just a runny syrup. While we understand it seems like a local staple, we don't understand the hype and likely wouldn't...

We had our wedding reception here. It was fabulous. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. We had a lunch reception on a Saturday and the restaurant took care of all of the decorations. All we had to do was pick out the menu and show up. In addition to the indoor seating the restaurant has an outdoor covered seating area. The plan was to use one area for hors d'oeuvres and the other for lunch and the restaurant would be able to choose which was best suited for which based on the weather that day. We ended up having lunch outdoors and it felt like a lovely picnic. Our guests were talking for months about how the reception was a nice relaxing lunch that allowed people time to visit with each other as the service was so seamless that it never interfered with socialization. The staff always kept an eye on my wife and I to make sure that we had anything we needed. She and I actually were able to sit down and have a full meal during the reception while still visiting...

This was my first time at 1703. It was also a friend's birthday and the night Joe Biden was announced the 46th President of the United States and Kamala Harris Vice President. There was much to celebrate. The restaurant has well established Covid-19 protocols in place for indoor and outdoor dining. Visit their Facebook page for instructions. That being said, the cocktails are yummy, the food is delicious, the staff is attentive and gracious, and I will absolutely go again. The menu changes daily, so call for details and reservations. (Thank you Amanda for your outstanding service.)

Amazing service, also would have ordered most of the menu, looks great. The wine list is killer too and all reasonably priced for the quality. Start with the bread and butter, wow, a genuine surprise. The goat cheese bbq brussel sprouts great harmony of a pairing. The wild mushroom risotto hit all the notes, superb! The sea bass was cooked just nice and crispy, yet flaky w/ this lemon sauce succotash. Great execution of the creme brulee, perhaps more vanilla, only selfishly saying cause I want to order again! Great dining experience.
