Visited on a Friday evening. It's a small place. We had not made reservations, nor do I know whether they accept reservations. It was our first visit and we were a party of three. We were advised it would be about 20 minutes, and it was just slightly more than that. No sophisticated method of taking names and notifying you when your name comes up. You just have to come back and ask whether your name has come to the top of the list yet. There is a poorly-defined waiting area and much congestion around it, the front door, and the cash register. In addition to table seating, one can sit at the sushi bar and eat while watching the chefs prepare both the sushi and the other entrees. It was pretty amazing watching the three chefs get along so well in a tiny, open kitchen space. That said, everything else was wonderful. It's a very extensive menu and some wonderfully unique specials. From what I could tell on this one visit, the ingredients were fabulously, the menu offerings were both routine and inspired, and the food was attractively displayed and served. When member of my party had the combo platter with scallops and chicken. It was pretty good: the quantity was excellent, it was delicious,, and the appearance was very good. The two other members of my party had a tempura sushi. We planned to split one roll, but it It was so good we ordered a second. The house salad had fairly routine ingredients, but the ginger dressing is remarkable. I'd like to go back several more times just to...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE. This place is terrible, I went with a co worker for lunch. When we got there we were seated fine, got our drink order and food order in, then, when we got our salads there was about a 1/4 inch of water in the bottom of the bowl, it was disgusting, then when we got our food it was wrong and our drinks went empty twice, we had to ask for refills, then when we got our bill I did not leave a tip because I did not feel like we got good service. They didn’t hesitate with time when I put my card in the folder for payment, if only they were that quick with refills and such. As I am walking to the car with my co worker, one of the waitresses comes barreling out of the door and yelling across the parking lot about me not leaving a tip, I proceeded to tell her why I did not leave one. Then I decided to go to the manager or owner of the restaurant for him to confront her about her actions, she came back at me from the back of the restaurant yelling at me in front of customers and was asking again arms crossed the whole nine yards. The manager did not make her apologize and didn’t speak a word to me. Needless to say I WILL...
Read moreI cannot say enough positive things about this establishment. I have been coming here for years, and this is some of the best sushi I have ever had, and it is located here in my hometown, what a diamond!
The staff is always courteous and friendly, ensuring you have what you need and checking in on you repeatedly. The sushi is always good, as well as the hibachi. I primarily get sushi when I come here because it is so good, but I have stray away and gotten hibachi before, and it was delicious as well, however their sushi trumps everything else on the menu.
I usually start off with some sort of appetizer here, and this time I got the Japanese spring rolls, which were some of the best spring rolls I have had before. They were adequately filled and fried to perfection.
I am also always impressed with their sanitation rating, as it is always a 98 or greater.
I cannot recommend this place enough. There is ample parking, and the restaurant is pretty big, so no need to make reservations. Also, beware, they are closed on Tuesdays (weird), so do not try to go get your sushi on Tuesday like I did a...
