I've been to worse places, but I'm disappointed that our experience wasn't as good as the other reviews.
The service: The bartender Tiffany was our waitress and when we walked in at 8:15 the first thing she did when she came to the table was check her watch and roll her eyes. She barely said 2 sentences to us and acted like she couldn't be bothered and everything we did annoyed her. We had to ask for bread twice, the second time was when she was dropping our meals off at our table. She barely looked at us and was definitely not warm and friendly at all. Honestly I would get it if she was like that to everyone but when she went back to the bar she was a completely different person, chatting and laughing with everyone sitting at the bar. She asked us if we were good at one point and before I could look up and ask for the check she was already walking away. When she dropped our card back off at the table she immediately put her hoodie on and stared at us. It was 9:05. As I'm writing this in the parking lot at 9:27 people are still at other tables eating.
The food: Honestly, whoever the chef was is too good for that restaurant, and what I mean by that is the food was cooked well, but it was weird. I asked for a medium burger, and it was perfectly cooked. My partner ordered chicken, and it was perfectly cooked. The recipes were weird, though. My partner got the pecan chicken, and again, it was cooked perfectly, but it was a weird recipe. It was very sweet, and there wasn't anything savory to balance out the sweet. The Mac and cheese was fine, a little bland, but fine. The burger was also bland in flavor (like no salt, no pepper, no nothing), but again cooked perfectly. The brioche bun had a weird aftertaste, though. The fries were good if you dipped them in barbecue sauce, but they also had a weird aftertaste. We got the spinach dip, and that was truly disgusting, don't waste your money. The chips were definitely just from a bag and had a really bad flavor that overpowered the dip. But the dip wasn't anything great either, just all around bad dish. The best food I had was the bread I had to...
Read moreThis is our second time eating at the Sherwood. We had a large party, 11 people. Food was great our waiter Jess was top notch. The food servers and the management not so much. Unfortunately, when the food was being served one of the servers thought it would be best to reach over the table to serve fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. The server could have easily walked around the table to serve the dish. Unfortunately, the cocktail sauce came off the plate and down the back of one of our guest, her blouse, coat and chair splatted with cocktail sauce. Our waiter was clearly upset. The server not so much. Our waiter asked what he could do, and we requested some cloth napkins and water to clean up the mess. I also thought it would be appropriate for the our guest to have her meal deducted from our tab. Our waiter said that he would have to have the manager make that call and that he would summon the manager. The manager arrived at our table. No introduction on his part. Had our waiter not made his presence know we would have thought he was another restaurant guest. His appearance alone was not that of someone in a management position. The manager did not introduce himself, instead he kept repeating " I am sorry sweetie". Over and over again. Well, first off, he was addressing an older woman who was pretty offended at being called sweetie over and over. Second, he did not offer a solution and only upon an urging on our part did he agree to comp her meal. To add insult to injury, the cocktail sauce was never replaced for the meal it was meant for. We usually have large a large party when we go out. We eat well and tip well and most of all we are respectful to the restaurant and to the patrons. My suggestions would be that the Sherwood provide the food servers and the management staff some...
Read moreHad a Christmas Dinner here tonight. Enjoyed myself in conversation so much that I almost did not take pictures. I love coming here especially after they sort of merged with the cooking staff from Oso Eats. The menu changed and got even better. They have options for everyone, from salads & wraps, to burgers & Main Chef dishes. I love their Pecan Chicken as well as the Madeira Chicken with mushrooms. However today I cheated on my diet and went with the Country Fried steak. It is a well coated and fried steak that does not need much else. It sits on some creamy mashed potatoes and topped off with a bacon gravy that’s not too watery or too thick. It is the right consistency and they don’t smother it, it’s just enough so that you can enjoy the actual steak. You get your Choice of side, I went with asparagus so I could convince myself that I was eating healthy. They also have a great selection of desserts. I got a slice of carrot cake that looked like it was on steroids, definitely it good for my diet. I I g was great, cake was a tad dry and I could have used more nuts in.it, my preference. My buddy got the Buckey which looked amazing and was probably about a million calories. He loved it and I trust his word. The ambience is casual family style with plenty of seating. There is also a bar towards the rear with a few TVs to catch sports. I love coming here and have loved everything I have ever ordered. It’s a strip mall so plenty of parking. Staff is always on point with taking g orders and getting them right, drinks filled and all with a smile. Love this family restaurant with reasonable prices. They also have two rooms that can be reserved for...
