I've been to Gigi's. I've been to Carnegie in Manhattan (before it closed). Both take a firm back seat to this place in terms of baked goods. If you go there, you will meet the owner. She is as much of a treat as her cupcakes and cakes are. And she is as local as it gets.
I highly recommend the Reese's peanut butter cupcake, but honestly, everything you get there will be perfectly made. The frosting is just sweet enough to comment the light and fluffy cake underneath. And the cake flavor... In both the cupcake and traditional cake form, shows the true talent this young woman has. And for those of us with sugar issues, she does do sugar free versions of her delicacies. If you give her a bit of warning.
