What an Easter Basket Treat we had! More for me bc I didn’t have to cook, and cleanup was minimal and everything came with the instructions to put it all in oven at various times on same temperature! And I managed it well! It was said to set on 250 for 45 minutes and get Medium rare. But I had to do more like 1 hour 15 and it was still too rare. I even increased temp slowly. But what I ended up doing was finishing the prime rib in the skillet with butter for each slice! PERFECTO! And there’re was sooo much mashed potatoes and greeen beans, had to increase temp in oven to 375 to get Them hot. Even let the prime rib just rake a chance at the higher temp and it was still MR and amazing. But those dishes needed the higher heat at the end, say 30 minutes after the initial 45 on 250 I kept it on. This is a standard electric oven.
But we soooooooooooo enjoyed it! Thank you so much for taking this time out of your day to make mine special. AND your takeout social distancing was well planned and executed to where me, the most paranoid of people, felt comfortable. I hadn’t been out in four weeks before this. So I was quite scared. Y’all were tasked and prepared and gave me such confidence in what I was getting! And the fact it was in containers and not bags. I hate bags. That I could use to heat it up in! I’d pay more for that. And it was so sealed I could wipe down with bleach solution. It was the easiest takeout - albeit for family of four — to feel like you COULD sanitize! Thanks again and God bless all of you for being essential to a normal way of life for those of us who can’t go to work as usual.
I think family meals for a weekend like this could be a thing!
The prime rib was a little salty. I would LOVe the option to say “light seasoning” for future:). Still so delish but I’m so sensitive to salty products. But otherwise, (just me) but I never could have produced this good of an Easter dinner! I’ve spent $150 to prepare one and not get it likes...
Read moreEverything was fantastic, up until the last interaction that I had. A friend and I had paid, walked outside, and sat on the stone wall at the edge of the patio because I wanted to smoke a cigarette before leaving. A server was in the middle of apologizing to us for getting so excited about our attire (we were dressed well, in all black, coming from a funeral), and we were assuring him he was just fine, and thanks for the compliment.
I'm guessing the lady who came out was some kind of manager, but I can't say for sure. She cut off the server who was speaking to us to tell us in a raised voice that NC LAW PROHIBITS PEOPLE FROM SMOKING ON THE PATIO AND WE'RE TECHNICALLY ON THE PATIO. I am paraphrasing, but that's the impression that I got. Guns blazing, she came at me (my colleague was an innocent bystander, as he does not smoke).
Okay, so no, NC law does not prohibit smoking on patios, unless it is "an enclosed area." Misquoting your restaurant's policies as state law is really bad form. You have no signs that say anything to the effect of, "No smoking beyond this point." Furthermore, there are benches a few feet away, with a Smoker's Outpost. In all of my years of working in restaurants and bars in Winston, I have made it a point to always, always attempt the most tactful approach to anything resembling this kind of situation, and reserve that kind of hostility for people who earn it.
Thanks for the wonderful food from the kitchen, and attentive service from... Kaylin? A day of mourning was made so much better by that, and this review is NOT a reflection of anything besides the 10-second freak out that was unnecessary and unprofessional. I will...
Read moreI was at the restaurant in Reynolds VIg Wy locution in NC on Saturday night and ordered a Greek Salad with Grilled shrimp on it. Sweet young lady took my order at the bar and brought me the best salad 🥗. Since the service was great and liked the food, I decided to go back on Sunday night and order the same salad with grilled shrimp on it again. Elaina took my order and I mentioned her twice that I like to have GRILLED shrimp on my salad. Several minutes later the guy that I found out he is the manager brought my salad and the shrimp was only steamed and not grilled at all. As soon as I looked at my dish I asked him is this Grilled or Steamed? He said Grilled!!! And immediately left. But it wasn’t. Elaina said it depends of the chef 🧑🍳 And offered me to bring me grilled shrimp and I accepted. 5 minutes later she came back to me and said my manager said I need to charge you for the grilled shrimp again. I decided to call the manager and he said this is the way we normally do for the salad and he offered to bring me grilled shrimp with no charge again. I ordered about $70 food to go as well and he brought me 5 small shrimps which I paid for 7 of them!!! Manager eventually put the waitress (Elaina) on spot in a bad position in front of customer then handled the situation very unprofessionally! I wouldn’t go back there and not recommended to go there if he is on working shift. Very impressive on Saturday night but disappointed on Sunday...
