Edit: Went back a few days later in regards to the owner's message allowing me to get a refund on my drink. The cashier was super nice and understanding and refunded my drink. Made it in less than 5 minutes and it tastes perfect rather than it being overly sweet. Thank you for being so understanding and allowing me to get a refund on my drink! Most places don't really go out of their way to do something like this so it's a really kind offer to redo the order that was originally placed.
I've gone here quite a few times since it's a pretty close cafe to where I currently live. I absolutely love the egg tarts they sell, however I do have one minor gripe about one of my experiences there. One of the few times I bought boba tea, specifically one of the fruit boba teas it took roughly 10 minutes or so for my order to finish. There was like 3 people in the store so it wasn't particularly busy that day. After I got my order though my tea was sickenly sweet, it basically tasted like pure syrup I could not tell if it tasted like fruit at all just because of how sweet it tasted. I remember walking home and tried diluting the flavor with like a cup of water and it still tasted like pure syrup. I'm unsure what might've gone wrong exactly but it was a bit disappointing overall since I had to dump a majority of my tea out since it started making me nauseous from how terribly sweet it was. Normally I wouldn't complain but the fact that it took like 10 minutes with barely anyone in the store just for it to turn out kind of terrible is just a bit unfortunate overall. For any future customers I highly recommend getting 25-50% sweetness next time if you have a sweet tooth, otherwise you might just get a mouth full...
Read moreShen Tea is such a cute little boba tea shop in Winter Park! If you’re craving a fruity tea, milk tea, slush drinks or even coffee, this might be worth checking out. We had 2 different drinks here - the Yuan Yang Coffee with cheese foam as well as Thai tea with cheese foam. The cheese foam is good here! The Yuan Yang Coffee was actually really good - it basically is a blend of milk tea and coffee, and if you’re into that, I’d recommend it! The Thai tea was unfortunately not that great. It was a bit clumpy, which means they didn’t fully mix the powdered Thai tea into the drink, and the overall taste was just not the best Thai tea I’ve had. They should probably use a better mix for it. However, we did have great service from a cheery staff member behind the counter, who was able to explain a few things to us and made our drinks quickly. So shoutout to him!
And finally, the main attraction is obviously the decor inside. Take a look at some of the pictures people posted - yes, it’s actually that cute inside! It’s all pink and there are cute Japanese designs and plushies everywhere. I absolutely loved it. I definitely would come back again to try out some more drinks, but I do expect it to be a hit or a miss considering our Thai tea experience. If you get the right thing, though, you’ll have a great time here! BTW, they even sell Japanese corn dogs here - I’ll be trying...
Read moreWhat an adorable freaking boba shop! You walk in and everything is pink and lined with stuffed animals and cute keychains and a gatcha machine and even some sticker machines and from what I saw a place to paint some plaster pottery, how cute! Menu is organized and straight forward and the woman at the counter was so kind and helpful and even let us sample their matcha before buying it which I've actually never had anyone offer us before, so that set them apart for me. My friend got the strawberry matcha latte and I got an original matcha latte and we both got creme brulee tops for our drinks which is just a brulee'd cheese foam. Very good quality. Not too sweet. Boba was cooked just right. Not too firm. Not too soft. This place is definitely very out of the way for me but I was glad to have stopped by and checked it off my list of places I had been meaning to go for quite some time. If you are in the area definitely...
