First Watch — Restaurant in Winter Park

TL;DR: worst location for food and service, go to a different location in the area.

EXPERIENCE- This was possible the worst food experience I’ve ever had to date. I’ve been coming to first watch for about 2 years, I order breakfast about 3 times a week. I’ve never had a bad experience until I visited this winter park location today. I called in to place and order and over the phone and noticed the server was rude but whatever. I get to the restaurant and slip on the wet floor, I approach the same person I talked over the phone with and let her know the floor was wet and she rudely answered “ there’s not much I can do about it” ??? You can most definitely put a sign.

FOOD - the food somehow was worse than the service. We ordered eggs Benedict (gluten free bread, no tomato, no ham, medium/not as runny poached eggs), million dollar bacon, and million dollar hash. They got the order wrong, burnt my toast so much it was black, and gave me just 2 boiled eggs. The million dollar bacon didn’t have any seasoning or syrup… kinda gross tasting. The million dollar hash with “over easy eggs” didn’t have any “million dollar bacon” and overcooked eggs LOL. The sweet potato was burnt but raw and the greens were wilted.

The one reason I gave it 2 stars instead of the 1 star it deserved was because once speaking to the manager, he took my name and genuinely tried to make the situation better. Non the less, this is a poorly run first watch with below average food and a rude hostess. The downtown and altamonte location are by far the best.

UPDATE : I completely take that back what I said about the manager solving the problem. I called in today to get my order and was told that “it’s not their process” and they solve it same day. I’m not sure what it is with this first watch but the lack of professionalism is inane. On top of having a horrible food experience, I received unnecessary attitude when trying to get my corrected order. This is probably the worst First Watch in the Central Florida area which is surprising to say considering it is Winter Park. My family and I arrived today Sunday January 9th for brunch and were quoted a 20 minute wait, thankfully it was much faster than that. We were sat at a booth along the right side of the restaurant with a good view of the whole restaurant. That's when it went downhill from there. We were not greeted for fifteen minutes. A male server came by and told us that our waitress will be right with us. Another five minutes pass and a waitress comes up to us, tells us our waitress is too busy so she will be helping us out. Did not introduce herself, did not make any recommendations but asked us to place our orders. We sat there for so long so we were ready and knew what we wanted. The food came out pretty quickly however, no one came up to us after that again. We were waiting on refills, our eggs were extremely greasy and there was a hair in our little one's hot chocolate. No one came up to us. We ate our meal without drinks, a third server bussed our table and my mother requested a water, the server agreed and never came back. We sat there for a little while until I saw the waitress that took our order helping another table and I managed to catch her attention to ask for our check and she replied "I will let your server know" we were baffled and confused because at that point we did not have a server. The initial server that said "your waitress will be right with you guys" was our "server". Disappointing Experience at First Watch Winter Park - I’ve always enjoyed First Watch, especially the Oviedo location, which consistently delivers friendly service, a clean atmosphere, and excellent food. Unfortunately, my experience at the Winter Park location was a huge disappointment.

The visit started off badly with coffee mugs that had lipstick stains and sticky spots. When we asked for clean mugs, our waitress seemed annoyed and impatient. I also ordered the Morning Meditation drink, which I usually love, but this time it tasted completely off compared to what I’m used to in Oviedo.

The food experience was equally disappointing. I ordered the Florentine plate, which is supposed to come with avocado, but it was missing. When I pointed this out, the waitress went to the kitchen and returned with just two small pieces, insisting that avocado had already been included, though it was clearly absent.

On top of everything, our waitress seemed rushed throughout the meal. One of our party hadn’t even finished their plate when she abruptly brought us the check, making us feel like we were being pushed out. The lack of cleanliness was also concerning – the restroom was dirty, and even the decorative large white doors in the restaurant were visibly smudged, giving the place an unkempt feel.

Overall, the Winter Park location falls far below the standards I expect from First Watch. For anyone considering brunch here, avoid Winter Park location. I’d highly recommend the Oviedo location instead, where the staff is attentive, the food is consistently good, and the environment is...
