Marketplace Cafe — Restaurant in Wiscasset

What made this marketplace so special, The food was great, my wife and I loved it. But that wasn't it. The service was awesome. She was polite and an actual human being, not there because it was a "job", basically, everyone there knew her. This brings me to why we loved it here. It wasn't just a breakfast and lunch place. It was a meeting place where everyone knew everyone, asking each other about family and health amongst everything else. It was just so pleasant being somewhere where they were just like family. No silly squabbles about correctness or anger over not thinking their way, like the rest of the country. No, here were friendships, caring, and welcoming. we came for breakfast because online there is a photo of breakfast and the title says its a breakfast restaurant. The 1st things they say is, you know you can't have breakfast after 11 right? Mayne change your advertising online to reflect this, or maybe if that many people want breakfast after 11 you should adjust accordingly. I will say the waitress was very nice, but that doesn't mean anything when I'm the place is at half capacity and it takes 44 minutes for a steak and cheese and turkey club. Avoid this restaurant at all costs unless you've got all day. The food was below average at best and I'm pretty upset that I wasted all this time for a below average meal. not sure what the issue is but totally unacceptable to...

Sneaky good place in the little strip across from Hannaford. Great staff. Excellent food. We went in with our two boys(16&4 months), and the staff couldn't have been kinder an older waitress took our youngest around to see everyone while we ate, while making sure he could see Mom and dad. Alot of repeat customers and it's obvious why. We've never had a bad meal. It's our go-to breakfast nook . Gets crowded but they are excellent at clearing tables. People came in and out and although it was busy nobody had to stand and wait for more than a couple minutes....
