I really waited a while to give my review of this place. First I will say that the majority of my experiences here have been good- the food is always good and so is the coffee. My only gripes are employee rudeness and the online ordering system- twice now it has mysteriously “lost” my order. I know they can’t control that, so that’s not necessarily the reason for 4 stars. The first time this happened, I placed the order at 6:05am... they begin accepting orders at 6:00am, and I have to be out of Wolcott before 6:25 to make it to work on time. I figured this would give plenty of time to complete the coffee and toasted bagel... I arrive around 6:22, and am not greeted at all, just given a blank stare by an employee. I say that I’m there picking up a mobile order and he seems genuinely startled, says “oh yeah it’s right over here...” and walks away. About a minute later he comes back and asks what my order was.... if it was “right here”, why are you asking me what my order was? So I had to wait for them to make my entire order while standing there, and now I’m late for work. No one apologized or offered an explanation. I stopped going for a while, based on that experience and then today again the same exact thing happens- I show them my email receipt (I assume they thought I was making it up?) and again had to wait to receive my order, as other customers come in, place orders and leave quickly. What’s the point of ordering ahead if you end up waiting even longer, not only for them to make the order, but to all stand around the register trying to figure it out? Again no apologies, and the same rudeness from said employee. I love the food here and I’m all for supporting small local businesses- the owner here is wonderful and really great when I’ve interacted with him, but the employees attitudes, lack of convenience and multiple errors on my last trips have caused me to reconsider coming here. In the future, I will have to limit my visits to days when I have lots of...

The cream cheese is also homemade with it's not too fluffy, but is light and tasty. They put a generous portion of cream cheese on the bagel (pictured) and cut it in half for easy eating. I also have had a scrambled egg and cheese sandwich which was just as good.
Their coffee is good and well worth it considering the price of other coffee places in the area. They have a variety of flavors you can to your coffee too, so you will not be left disappointed.
The owners and their family members work the shop and they work hard! They are always respectful, helpful, and caring of their customers. I really hope Wolcott Bagel is here to stay.
I would say, you better get there early if you want a bagel. They go quickly. If you need more than a dozen, I would definitely order...
Read moreLooking for the perfect bagel since we don't have a bagel shop in Torrington. On the way to Waterbury to pick up an order and drive past Wolcott Bagel LLC not knowing about them. Stopped on the way back to pick up a few to compare to what I just picked up. The man behind the counter was so nice. Selection was low being close to closing. Said I was from Torrington where we have no bagel shop. He threw in 2 extra and I bought some scallion cream cheese. I have to say I like these bagels compared to the place in Waterbury and will be back after I finish my baker's dozen. It might be a while but they were really good. Crisp on the outside and light inside not heavy, dense or chewy. Good amount of seasonings too. Thanks so much for your kindness and the couple of extra bagels!...
