Service : Right from the start the service was lack luster. Call it prejudice (we were dressed very casual from shopping all day) or laziness. The bartender who attended us just didn't seem to care or didn't want to attend to us which is unfortunate because the place is beautiful and the atmosphere the other patrons were enjoying seemed delightful. The female bartender was laughing it up and having a good time with her covers and the male bartender with the busted finger dragged his feet on everything and generally avoided us for the majority of the encounter. We we arrived he only had one other patron he was attending yet it took 10 minutes to acknowledg us , another 10 to get our orders in, and finally about another 10 to get our drink orders. All of which was just painful trying to get and keep his attention on us long enough to get our orders in. And sad part is , we already knew what we wanted because we checked the menu online so we didn't have to waste time looking at a menu. Even checking out at the end , i had to ask for the check 3 times but he kept disappearing and ignoring us and his other patron who looked visibly annoyed as well.
Food : i had the calamari app to start , solid choice , they mix in some fried jalapenos with the calamari and the spicy aioli is amazing . My entre was a porter house cook rare, while the cook on it was perfect it lacked in flavor and i had to bathe it in au jus to gain some activity in my taste buds. The mashed potatoes were abismal and bland, over whipped , too much milk and no seasoning. My date had the burrata salad and equated it to a bagged salad from the grocery store, hastily tossed together and served in a way you could tell the kitchen was trying to fake it till they make it. Reminds me of Jamie Kennedy in Malibu's most wanted. Now her entre was the spicy crunchy salmon roll and she loved it. She said it taste like smore and despite the bad service would probably come back just for that but as a take out option instead.
And for desert , lemoncello... Wasn't bad , but nothing to write home about.
Lastly cost ... I would say it's definitely on the higher end but nothing outrageous, value though ?? Not there while they are priced to match other restaurants in the area , the steak , desert, mash , and drinks just don't delivery. Especially not at those prices, they don't need to go down it price they need to bump their game up to match it.
Will i visit again ? Mostly like not. Between service and food I'm going to say it's a pass if anyone asks me, unless they...
Read moreI have been looking forward to eating here since they opened after hearing raving reviews about the food. Let me preface this with the fact that I worked in restaurants for 10 years while getting through college, so I am familiar with how this industry works, and what reasonable expectations are. Unfortunately, our experience was a huge let down.
We were seated promptly for our 515 reservation on Saturday night. The server's initial interaction was awkward, and it went downhill from there. One of our friends has diet restrictions and when we asked our server about the ingredients in the sauce served with the wings, he was clueless. He brought another server to the table whom also did not know what it was. We ordered sushi and steaks. Half of our food came out about 10 minutes before the rest. When we asked about which sushi was which, the server responded again with, "I don't know" How can you be waiting tables at an upscale establishment such as this and have no idea what you are serving people. It is your job. The sushi was subpar. After the delay in the delivery of the food, another server makes a comment about a big party waiting for our table. Maybe if you got more organized on expediting your food more timely, your tables will also be more timely. The only positive thing we can say about this experience- the steaks and wings were delicious. (The reason I gave 2 stars and not 1) A second server started to assist at the end (seemed much more competent) and apologized to my husband about the "party" remark. Too late-we were done with this place.
Horrible experience. Management needs to invest in training their staff. Maybe start with a menu test to make sure your servers can answer basic questions as well as make suggestions appropriately. Work on the timing of your food. If you advertise yourself as having steaks and sushi, find a way to serve them together in a timely manner. Biggest waste of $250-not including the tip. Will not be going back. You can get a better experience at other local...

This was our second time trying Mix Prime; our first experience being only eh, so-so. We tried the Prime Rib but utilized their takeout experience due to the fact I was home sick with the stomach bug and boy am I glad we decided to come in for sit down. However…
Beware, they do not take online reservations! Someone really needs to update their website because the reservation system through open table is quite deceiving. I made a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time to guarantee our table and just get it on my calendar (husband and I don’t get out much with 3 kids) on the Woodbury location website (it allowed me to with no issues) and not to mention, it was a special occasion. It spawned an email to confirm reservations however I did fail to notice in the EMAIL that the address said Danbury. When we got there, the reservation was not ready as it was under the Danbury location and the hostess said, “oh, we don’t take online reservations.” 🤦♀️ Thankfully, the hostess was kind enough and able to find an open table for two during their very busy night but that was so annoying. Partially my fault, I know, but the restaurant should fix this issue. Also like I stated prior, this WAS a special occasion but nobody asked. Not a huge deal - the service was extremely well considering how busy it was and probably being short staffed due to the pandemic. Take note the parking also sucks but that’s because it’s a popular spot. People were parking across the street.
Everything else was fabulous - the waitstaff, the appetizers (calamari was some of the best we’ve had!), our filet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection, and the prices were pretty on par with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Will certainly come back but will call to make...
