Now, I want to share my experience with you all just so you can take it how you please. I got a small white buffalo chicken pizza for lunch on my break, I did not see a single line cook wear gloves while making food, I didn't see if my pizza specifically was made with someone wearing gloves or not, but the next 5 or 6 pizzas I saw being made in the time frame I was there no gloves were worn. I worked in a restaurant in Oxford for 5 years on and off while I was going to school and all the chefs and line cooks wore gloves all the time and changed them regularly. Cross contamination is a real issue and its unnerving to think about the possibility of cross contamination in my food or others food. I saw one cook specifically knead dough and then put his hands right in the bucket of cheese and sprinkle it on the pizza, even if minor this is pretty gross, when did this guy last wash his hands? Not to mention the fact that we are still in a pandemic and sanitation is more important now than it has been relative to our collective lifestyle as humans in our relative lifespan ESPECIALLY in the food service industry. On top of all this the pizza was ok at best, I was disappointed with a half hour wait time, I get that it's Friday but for a half an hour wait time the pizza needs to taste better.
Disclaimer: I can't speak on behalf of all the food that has been made at this restaurant, this situation was specific to the pizza station, there were 2 cooks there making pizza with no gloves on in my experience that I have described. I have no idea what the kitchen set up is, or the number of cooks and chefs that they have as I don't work there and this was my first time going. I really hope I just caught them on an off day or perhaps maybe their glove shipment got lost or delayed but you need to wear gloves when...
Ā Ā Ā Read more"Tasty Marinara" The weather Sunday felt like a dreary fall day in the middle of August. It was a good day to take a scenic ride to Woodbury and try San Remo Restaurant. There was a crying baby in the dining room, so the hostess offered to seat us in the nice quiet bar. Thank you again. The bar is beautifully appointed with high ceilings with big modern fans to circulate the air. As well as greyish blue walls and a brick accent wall. While we looked over the menu, my wife asked the waitress how the marinara tastes. The waitress brought her a small bowl with a little of the marinara to taste for herself. Who does that anymore? That's great customer service. My wife ended up ordering Mozzerella en Carozza over linguine with the marinara because she liked it so much. She also enjoyed a cup of chicken soup before dinner. I began with a cup of Pasta Fagoli which was very good. I don't usually order dinners with a cream sauce. But the description of my dinner sounded so good that I had to try it and it was delicious. Seafood Mona Lisa Scallops, shrimp, and crab meat in a fresh basil sherry wine cream sauce. The scallops and shrimp were tender and cooked perfectly. They were a little shy with the crab meat. But the taste of the sherry cream sauce was outstanding. We shared a piece of their homemade Tiramisu to complete our delicious dining experience at San...
Ā Ā Ā Read morewhen i first walked to this place, i was immediately unsure about the restaurant quality. there was a bar that had way too many chairs and the same old greasy people you expect sitting at a place like this. i sat down with my father and a friend and they were both gushing about how great this place was. so i figured iād give it a shot
the waitress came over to our table and i asked for a glass of water, avoiding asking for the shady-looking soda sitting in the crates near the main entrance. five minutes later the waitress comes back with two beers and a water. considering the restaurant was almost empty (other than the bar) i donāt understand how it takes that long for two beers and a glass of water.
by the time the pasta faglioli i ordered was finished and the other apps were brought out, i had ran out of water and it took maybe twenty minutes for our incompetent waitress to realize this.
the chicken i had ordered as an entrƩe was not only more-or-less raw but also smothered in the worst tasting marinara sauce i have ever had anywhere. you could taste the tin from the cans the tomatoes were stored in. it honestly tasted better the day after, when i heated it in my microwave. save yourself the huge amount of money on the overpriced food and find...
