I’ve been going to Mr. Pickle’s forever — it’s easily my favorite sandwich shop. However, I recently had a strange experience when I tried to order a salad with the same meats that go into the Italian sandwich. Since I didn’t see that option on the menu, I tried to explain that I just wanted a salad version of the Italian — basically lettuce, the Italian meats, and some typical salad toppings like tomato and avocado.
During the conversation with the lady making sandwiches, she asked if I wanted “the works,” which includes mayo and mustard. I mentioned that I was confused why that would go in a salad, and we went back and forth as I tried to clarify what I wanted. The conversation started to feel more combative than helpful, and I ended up leaving out of frustration.
This honestly surprised me, because I’ve never had a bad experience here before — this is the only time anything like this has happened. I still love this place and their food, but a little more patience and communication from the staff would go a long way. Sometimes customers just need a bit of understanding when trying to order something...
Read moreI like their sandwiches but Woodland location have issues and their customer service sucks!! The top 3 issues that they can't fix and need a rehaul are (1) Only open til 4pm on Saturdays. (2) If a customer orders three sandwiches, all of the employees help that one customer instead of helping the next customer. (3) Lack of supplies such as bread and cheese. Bread not baked until the bin is bare and don't like bringing cheese from the back.
Update: The last time I made a review was 7 years ago and since then, I have been coming to this location sporadically for a while. Always see new faces, see great employees go away but you can always count on the manager at the Woodland location. I do have to say, they are always busy, but when they are overwhelmed, the team still tries to make great sandwiches. Unless you get the runt of the litter. I just have to remember, not everyone is perfect but they try. They always try to make it right. Unfortunately the only pet peeve I have with Mr. Pickles is their new online...
Read moreFirstly, this was my first and last time I would ever order from here. I was in the area and noticed the name Mr. Pickles, so i decided to stop in. I stood at the counter telling the male employee my order, and after a while, the male employee made some comments about a "funky" smell to his coworker while glancing at me. It seemed like he was more concerned with flirting with his female coworker than getting my order correct. After telling him what I wanted, I sat down at a table, and I could overhear him, talking about how a person could order 4 sandwiches for themselves. ( I ordered 4 sandwiches, 1 sandwich each for my family members) Then he proceeded to ask me how I wanted my sandwiches and STILL got my order wrong. I didn't notice my order was wrong until I got home. I don't live in Woodland, and I was not about to drive back from Sacramento to get a refund during rush hour. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. (P.s. this happened a...
