Absolutely terrible experience...possibly worst dining experience I've ever had. We decided to come in a few days before mothers day I had my sister fly in from Las Vegas, my mother in law in from Ohio and my mother and wife. We were served by Sean who has to be the absolute worst waiter I've ever had in my entire life. We had a large party so of course I would never expect perfect. First off Sean was extremely rude and had a only describable as snappy attitude. This was our first visit and a few at our table was asking questions. We all placed our orders and ordered drinks. I had the porterhouse steak which comes with a large onion on the side I asked Sean if in place of the onion I could have a tomato to which he said yes, once he returned with the food he told me the cook was to busy to place a grilled tomato on my plate and instead placed a grilled onion which I specifically asked not to have. Second I requested when ordering my steak A1 sauce not unusual very common one would assume a restaurant of this supposed caliber to bring A1 with a $100 steak....I was wrong after waiting almost 20 Mins I did in the end get A1 sauce but on Sean's time...Third I asked Sean for a side of tomato sauce which goes on pasta which I usually eat calamari with he just flat out told me this could not be done. Throughout our evening we were waited on terribly, our food was 5 star prices with 2 star quality. To top everything off at the end of the night the bill came $580...no problem with so many guests however Sean's gratuity was over $100 bucks for him hanging out in the back not knowing how to switch a tomato for a onion and not knowing what tomato sauce looks like. We called in of course there was absolutely no way I was going to ruin a mother's day with 3 generations of mothers across 2000 miles traveled. We were offered a $30 gift card...yes I could not make this up it actually was a real experience...I ate chilis today and I had better service and food close to the same quality it actually hurts me to type that. In the end I would highly recommend staying away from this over priced Texas roadhouse...absolutely Terrible service....waiters have attitudes as if they work in a Michelin star restaurant when in reality they are gouging customers for McDonald's service...also my 15 family members agreed on service and just didn't want to ruin the evening however we all will be leaving our own reviews of our experience. Thank you Krapils for Applebee's food at 3x cost and thank you Sean for showing us you can still be a total jerk and still get $100+ tip. Wish you the best of luck you guys are...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would but they won’t let me. I’ve had bad experiences the past few years but nothing I would Karen about, however I draw the line here and need to let everyone know. I had received a $50 Krapil’s Gift Card for Christmas from my brother, so my husband and I decided to go out and use the card for dinner while watching our friend’s band play tonight. We ordered an appetizer which came out fine. However, dinner was a little disappointing. I ordered a Chicken Pesto sandwich with smashed potatoes and my husband ordered an Italian Beef with fries. I was not impressed with my chicken sandwich, so I gave it to my husband, and he gave me half of his beef sandwich. We ordered another bucket of Miller Lites and they were delivered promptly. We decided to go out in back to smoke for a moment and when we came back, our entire table had been cleared. Our brand new bucket of 5 beers were gone, along with half of a beef sandwich, half of the chicken sandwich, fries and smashed potatoes. Our waitress was sympathetic to what happened and replaced the beer bucket for us. We noticed the manager pointing at us but he never came over and addressed us regarding our food and our table being cleared. The food was never replaced or discounted on our bill. We paid the bill with the gift card we had received and then provided a credit card to cover the difference. The manager came over with the gift card we had received and pointed out to us that our gift card we had was actually a business card. We had never looked at it previously, so we had no idea what was in the envelope. We did have the receipt showing the purchase of the card and it even had the gift card number printed on it. The manager claimed he didn’t have the authority to run the gift card number manually, which I find interesting. I’ve worked in restaurants previously as a server and I know gift cards can be run manually. The manager, Ervin DeLeon, made no apologies for all of the mixups tonight and made no effort to fix the problem with the gift card. Instead, he said: “Because I am a Latino, I can’t be a manager?” even though we had said nothing to him regarding that. It’s easy to see how Krapils has declined in recent years when things go wrong and they do nothing to fix the problem and try to make the customer happy. I can safely say that with service problems like that, I won’t be returning there. I will take my business elsewhere to other restaurants that will take care of their...
Read moreRead moreSave your money ! This place has gone down hill, regardless of it being under new management, which is incredibly sad !!! Been going here for 30+ years now and had the worst experience 2 months ago. They have a new drink and food menu, which was very appealing with a recommended signature drink ‘Dirty Martini’. The martini was not ice cold and had been shaken in a shaker using lemon because you could taste it. The steak bites ice cold and well done, even though ordered medium, the skirt steak was also cold and the baked potatoes so cold the butter didn’t melt. It was a weeknight so it was not crowded at all however our waitress informed us it wasn’t her fault for the cold food because they were short staffed and she was given too many tables. She also informed us the reason the martinis were horrible in the past was because they were never properly trained to make them, really ?!? you’re a steak house and as much as that might be true, that was the past, what’s the excuse now ?! When we paid the bill we decided to give our waitress a $40 CASH tip on the $248.50 bill (which was basically 16%)because of the horrible service she gave us ! Last time I checked a ‘recommended tip’ is usually 15-25% or more and you base it from the service received. Well…. Miss Waitress did not agree with the $40 (16%) cash tip we gave her and very loud and rude came to our table and told us. The other 3 tables (only 3 tables outside that entire night) also heard her. All of us, including the other tables looked at each other in disbelief. Before leaving, the table next to us agreed, Miss Waitress delivered their food cold and was not providing good service. Looking back now I wish I would of taken my hard earned $40 back since it wasn’t good enough for her and asked to speak to her Manager. Restaurants have bad days, waitresses have bad days, chefs have bad days, customers have bad days, heck we all have bad days every now and again ! The cold food and poorly made martinis would not of kept us away. We have been going here for 30+ years and enjoy the food and ambiance of this legendary place ! I’ll tell you what will keep us away from this place inconsiderate, rude and poorly trained staff that do not have customer service skills. We frequently dine out and it’s sad I have to cross this place...
