I went here to meet with my high school girlfriends for brunch. When we meet we talk for hours. So we need places that don't mind if we take a table for that long. This place did not rush us. This goes a long way with me.
The food. The 1st thing I ordered was country fried steak. It was horrible. I sent it back. It tasted like what it was a frozen patty of breaded meat that was frozen to long. They took it back, no problem. This is also a good thing. Next I ordered bacon and eggs with Texas toast. They use small eggs so I had 3. I like them over easy, they were cooked perfect. The hash browns could have been cooked a little longer. The bacon was cooked perfect and tasty. The toast was thin for Texas toast but it was toasted correctly. Over all my food was very good. In my opinion the price wasn't that bad.
My friends all had omletes. They looked great. Only one person said something negative. She had an avocado omlete, she said it tasted funny. I'm not sure what was funny about it so I will not make a negative remark. It could be that the idea of an avocado omlete appealed to her and then in practice it didn't work. Because it looked fine. I ordered a large Julian salad to go. This I had a problem with. They gave me plenty of meat and cheese on it. 3 small cherry tomatoes, 1 was moldy, gross. 1 cucumber slice. A hand full of mixed lettuce. 1 small plastic container of dressing. No roll or cinnamon toast. It was just over $10. I can imagine just how they made this. They took the foam to go container laid lettuce on the bottom and then put the meat and cheese on top, making sure the container closed, tossing a small hard boiled egg, 1 cucumber and bad tomatoes on it. It was terrible. If I wanted lunch meat I have ordered a sandwich. They gave me the amount of lettuce I put on a sandwich. What they should do is make the salad in the bowl they would serve it in at the restaurant, then serve it in 2 foam containers. What on earth could 1 more container of dressing possibly cost them? I truly didn't have enough for the lunch meat let alone the lettuce. I got a brown bag with it. This I checked for. Normally it contains a roll or cinnamon toast and the 2 containers dressing. Not this one. It had the 1, but No roll, it did have 2 tiny packets of pepper. Pepper? Honestly a week later I still can't figure out what the pepper was for. The staff was kind, patient and polite. This goes a long way. I will go back. I know what not to order. It is I guess a pancake / waffle place, so I will try those things next. The pluses here out weigh...
Read moreI have been a fan of Royalberry until recently when their customer service was unsatisfactory. I called in an order for pickup and upon arrival the hostess was rude. I paid for my food only to get home and find out one of the orders was incorrect. I called to notify them and the lady asked if I could come back tomorrow or Monday to get the correct order. I told them it was kind of inconvenient to come back that way and asked if they could deliver correct order. She said she would get order to me right away and I could give wrong order to driver. I provided her with the address and confirmed how the cook should make the order. After 40 minutes of waiting I called for status of delivery and employee told me the driver couldn't find my apartment and didn't know apartment number. The driver didn't need the unit number because the name for my order is on the bell. Furthermore, we received delivery on multiple occasions from Royalberry. She continued on to say he could not call me since they did not have my number. I was in total disbelief as I gave them my number when I initially placed my order. I was in more disbelief when she said they were too busy for the driver to make another attempt and suggested I come get the food. I was very disappointed at that time. I waited 40 minutes for food that would not arrive; told driver allegedly could not find apartment; and inconvenienced for having to make another trip to the restaurant. Needless to say, I returned the food and requested a refund. The hostess at register was rude and other hostess was a tad bit nicer. I requested a manager and second hostess went to get him when she did not know how to refund my card. The owner/manager came out very apologetic and tried to accommodate me for the inconvenience. He issued refund and was willing to have his cooks give me something else. I told him thanks but I could not wait. Hopefully he will retrain his hostesses on how to obtain the required information for a delivery. I am still turned off by the service from hostesses as we come there frequently and recommend Royalberry. It will be quite some time before me and my family return to...
Read moreThis is a big one room restaurant, so there's no waiting. The service is fast and good, with an extensive menu. We have never been disappointed with any order. On Sundays they have mimosas and bloody Mary's ! The prices are average and is very clean. The bus staff are on the ball! You won't be disappointed. Lot of booths and tons of tables. Great place for groups! ( THIS REVIEW WAS FIVE YEARS AGO)!!! This is my newest review from June of 2025!!! I thought it had new ownership because our old standby “ Clubhouse and fries with the soup of the day” was terrible!!! Apparently it’s the same owners. The soup was split pea and it was uneatable. As for the turkey and bacon club, it wasn’t real sliced turkey like it used to be. It was a low grade cheap deli sliced mechanically processed crap! The bacon now is awful and even the tomatoes were sliced too thin and tasteless and the lettuce was minimal and it didn’t even have the extra slice of bread in the middle! Oh , and they put a slice of processed cheese food on it. Club house sandwiches are not supposed to have cheese! The French fries were probably the worst we’ve ever had!!! We used to go there often, however we won’t go there again, and don’t recommend you do either!!! Sincerely, Kathy and Brian. You’ll be disappointed! If it is the same owners from years gone by, SHAME ON THEM FOR CUTTING CORNERS AND LOWERING THEIR STANDARDS...
