I never write reviews but I’ll take time to write one on this place. Given 2 stars for everything JUST because I don’t know how this place is ran or what the servers deal with as I know customer service can be hard. With that being said, the service was sub par. We had a reservation for 6 people, originally 2/6 got seated at a table with chairs for 6 and then were told to move. They got moved to a booth. The booth does not accommodate 6 unless you are very small people, I was hanging off the edge of the booth my whole meal. We did ask if we could sit at the table instead and was told it was reserved. We just made a comment saying we have reservations for six as well and the server just said “yeah well for THAT table” painting to the one we were moved to, not sure what the difference was for them. While we were arranging ourselves trying to get into the booth we were asked what we wanted to drink. One of us said lemonade and the rest of us just getting seated didn’t even get a chance to look at the drinks on the menu which aren’t even there or even get to say what we wanted to drink before she abruptly left. When she got back my partner asked if it was Coke or Pepsi products and the server rolled her eyes before she answered, so sorry we have never been here before. The food is over priced. I got the vegan stuffed shells and was asked if I wanted to make it NOT vegan by adding cheese. That meal is for a child, as the portion size was 4 shells about 2 inches long and 15 dollars with hard bread. The fish dinner one of us got looked like it came from a hospital cafeteria, batter was hardly cooked as I can see in a lot of these reviews, no seasoning and the potatoes were bland, 23 dollars. Veggie burger looks gross. Server didn’t ask us not even once if everything was okay, did not refill drinks or even come back to the table till it was time to pay the bill. We had to send the cheesecake back for not being prepared how it says on their menu. It was very hard to speak to the server as everything was very fast as if it were an inconvenience we were there. Im the last one to write a review but this was by far one of the worst experiences ive had eating out in a long time. We were there to celebrate my mom making it out of cancer treatment and wish we would have picked somewhere else. Vibes are really weird in there. Will not...
Read moreLet me first preface this review by saying that I know businesses have bad days and wait staff have bad days. I understand this and I will be back. However, its always good to receive constructive criticism. Background- today was 2nd day into Cincy burger week so my friend suggested Gabbys.
Pro: Nice Atmosphere, clean, good seating, bar area and meal was average but we ate so we cant complain too much:)
Cons: Service was slow, spotty and non attentive Prices a tad high, i.e on a regular day our Caprese Burger with chips $13, however, Burger week only $5. A discount of 60%. WOW We were there from 1p to 2:10p for burger and chips. wayyyy to long!
Gabby's ownership. You put your waitress Andrea in a bad situation. At 1pm, she had 4 booths with 2 people, a group of 8 ladies, plus running the bar area with 8 patrons. I felt sorry for her but on the other hand, Andrea could have made her situation better with us by saying a few helpful things like, I will be with you in a minute, or even apologize (which she did at the end) and let us know that we have not been forgotten. Here's my timeline: 1pm Greeted Promptly 104 sat down waiting on a friend 109 friend sits and orders water 129 No one came to table, no water , then I spoke to the gentleman (forgot his name) who sat us down about no service 139- water comes- 30 MINUTES to get water- unacceptable in the restaurant industry---at this time we noticed 2 gentlemen at bar area sat 15 mins after us and already had their salads Andrea takes order only for the cincy burger special. She did not ask if we wanted anything else with our meal , nor did she ask how we wanted our meat prepared. It automatically came well done 151- food is finally here. Andrea sits food down and literally walks away. ( mind you is she not being mean nor did she have an "attitude", but she seemed overwhelmed) 210- 20 minutes passed before she checked back with us to see if we needed anything. 213 - We check out and I leave a 56% tip because I know we all have BAD DAYS but geez!! see...
Read moreThe staff at Gabby's are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The building gives off the comfortable, old school vibes of a classic Italian-American restaurant. The food is excellent.
At our last meal, we had the fried zucchini and the meatballs and garlic bread appetizers. Our famished party devoured these tasty treats before I thoughtbto take photos.
Most of us ordered the chicken parmesan. The breading is wonderfully crispy, and the chicken was well cooked and tasty, topped with mozzarella and a little red sauce, as you would expect. The accompanying spaghetti and garlic bread were also good - even as leftovers the next day.
My wife enjoyed her meatball hoagie, and the toddlers enjoyed the pizza. In past visits, I have also enjoyed their turkey club, and their salads.
I am not a huge fan of their style of pizza, being as it is a crust of medium thickness that is usually not very crispy, but they do a good job with it. My wife and daughter enjoy it, and there is nothing wrong with the flavor - it is just neither the New York style I grew up with, nor other styles I have grown to love.
The desserts here are very tempting, but we have yet to sample them. Maybe someday.
If the on street parking is full or inconvenient, there are also small lots behind and across the street. There is also a small park with playground just beyond...
