It’s New Year’s Day I have my nephew and he’s been anxiously yearning for a good steak burrito, wanted mega tacos but instead I suggest we come to panchos. I’ve been here countless times. Have supported the food truck appearances as well.

Mind you I myself have worked in food service for many years prior to this experience.

I place an order approximately 26 minutes prior over the phone & she said 10 minutes. I politely asked for her to have it ready in 20 because I will be a second driving there.

The young lady at the counter without making eye contact very rudely; “pick up or placing an order?”

Not a hello, how’re you?, not a welcome to panchos, nothing!

“I have an order for Victor” This young lady rolls her eyes and says “I don’t have an order for Victor, probably at our other location”

I am repeat my order of 4 steak burritos

Oh she put it under Nathan with the meanest stank face to have with a customer.

I confirm this is my order by asking if there’s 2 burritos without tomato one of which also no avocado.

She sternly says “she put it under a different name”

Asked me twice cash or card which I replied “card” both times. Both to no acknowledgement.

I pay for my food.

Give us 10-15 minutes.

Like are you kidding me?

I supported this establishment for many years & whoever put this young girl at the front counter should really re-consider that. Rude composure & unfriendly faces to a paying patron isnt the way to continue receiving business.

Ps: someone please tell her she needs to fix her eyebrows along w her stank ass attitude. My 9 year old niece can draw them on...

This place is SERIOUS value for the price. Tacos here are in the 3-4 dollar range (depending on what you add), but the meat portions were MASSIVE. Absolutely no exaggeration: more than half the taco shell was just overflowingly stuffed with steak. I'm normally a 3-5 taco eater (depending) but these I struggled to get the 3rd one down and I was genuinely full & satisfied. Seven tacos completely fed 3 people. I'm seriously impressed, as this was meant to be a small Halloween treat, but ended up being a full on dinner -- plus their house-made sauces are spectacular. We will definitely order again. Only spending about $12 per person, I rate this a 9 out of 10. Maybe even a touch beyond.

EDIT 1/20

I'm editing my 2-month old review because this place just continues to hit the mark for us. Four visits since our first try back on Halloween (and we don't eat out much). If I could give a double 5-star review, I would. The staff all seem genuinely happy to be there, customer service is prompt and efficient, but at the same time very friendly & accommodating, and...

Pancho's steak tacos are just the best around. The meat is still moist and juicy, yet you still somehow manage to get those crispy bits on there adding not only to flavor, but texture as well.

10/10 experience, I wish more restaurants...

The young lady that waited on us was sweet and polite. There was a slight communication problem about whether or not our burritos came with rice and beans as a side...but that happens sometimes. However, there was precious little meat in the burritos and what came in mine was very dry... the bottled water was $3.50 a bottle for an inferior brand. (Definitely not Voss like the cash register listed.) The salsa that I tried out from the salsa bar was excellent and unique...but we paid $37 cash for dinner which consisted of two burritos no sides, two bottles of water and a small side of guacamole that I added.. to me that is not a competitive price in a very competitive Mexican food market on 28th street... and my husband was pretty shocked by the price as well, to put it mildly. I do understand that prices are up for everything right now and that the restaurant business is a tough one.. my constructive suggestion would be to have a rotating nightly special that is clearly presented i.e. a sign for everyone to see and make sure that it includes rice and beans or at the very least one portion of chips so people can try the different salsas.... this way the restaurant still makes money (especially if they use whats on sale that week) and the customers feel like they're getting something a...

Pros: Best tacos in GR we’ve found, Taco Tuesdays Cons: some dishes are overpriced, cash only My hubs is always on a mission to find tacos like the ones he loves in CDMX. These are amazing. His former favorite taco place, El Cunado, are skimpy on filling and he didn’t care for their pastor (his fav). At Panchos he is in HEAVEN! He LOVES the Al pastor tacos here and on taco Tuesday they are $2.50 each. We both also really like the Asada. I also got a small rice, but prob wouldn’t order again. It was $2.50 for maybe 3/4 of a cup. The online pics show a bigger box, but that wasn’t the serving I received. It is cash only so be prepared. If in a pinch, there is an atm onsite!

Love this authentic taco joint in Wyoming. There are so many taco options around GR, it is refreshing to have an accessible and affordable option. The lunch special is a good value, 3 tacos with rice and beans for a reasonable price. We ordered a large guacamole as well and the portion size was great for the cost. There is also a salsa bar with several toppings and extras to add on for free, such as pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, limes, etc allowing you to customize your meal how you like. Service was also very friendly and fast. All in all a fantastic option for authentic tacos in Wyoming.

Authentic and fresh. Chatted up the people working there for a bit and they all seem like good folks. They're clearly passionate about their food and service. Everything was top notch. They've got both langua and tripa, which are rarer offerings in the GR Mexican food scene. There's a few tables to eat inside, which we did, but it's clear this place is more focused on takeout and delivery services than dine-in. Still, it was clean and delicious and well worth the trip. This part of town is full of great Mexican food and Poncho's really stands out. That's saying something.
