IHOP — Restaurant in Wytheville

If there was an option for zero stars, that would be my choice. To start off mine and my group’s experience, the waitress that we had was rude and did not seem to want to do any work. It took her at least ten minutes to even seat us when there was very little people. While waiting for our order to be taken, our waitress had dropped a plate of food that shattered and she didn’t even take the time to clean it up herself and made one of her coworkers clean up her mistake. That same coworker was also cleaning up all of the tables (that over half of were still covered with old plates and cups), sweeping the floor, and washing the dishes. The food took a while to even reach our table and by the time it did, it was cold. The next problem with this restaurant was a hair in the pancakes. That is absolutely disgusting. Our waitress also didn’t bother to check in with us to see how we were doing and we had to call her over multiple times. To finish it off, we told her we were on separate checks and she still ended up having one of us pay for the entire check before we finally made her check us out correctly. We were super exhausted and hungry from an unexpected trip. The ihop was the only thing open near our hotel. Words can’t express our disappointment with our food. I immediately wanted to leave when I noticed the guys in the grill area were preparing food with tank tops on….better known as “wife beaters”. I was in disbelief. My traveling partner told me to give them it try lol it may be the best food ever. I wish I had taken pictures. Our order came and half of our food was missing. When we looked at it we were completely disgusted. Scrambled eggs were yellow and black my fried eggs were burnt it was black and yellow as well. In all my years I have never seen food that looked the way this food look. The cooks were running around kitchen, jumping around like spider man. I was so applauded we were going to attempt to eat it but after my travel partner smelled her pancakes she just couldn’t. I requested a 46 dollar refund and no questions were asked. We are from Galax and we do eat over there regularly. This has been the absolute worst ever. It was freezing cold. The food was not good. The service wasn't even good. Our meal price was not explained to us properly.3 chicken tenders mashed potatoes and a salad $21 what a royal ripoff I don't wear a jacket in the winter. I had to put a jacket on in there. It was so freezing cold, but not the businesses on either side of the restaurant. Even though the server said she turned the heat up to eighty earlier so that it didn't make a difference. Chicken tenders had grizzle through them like a steak and the beef tips were horrible worse than the chicken. We both had an upset stomach be entire evening. My wife ended up throwing up!!!!! Good thing. You have a steady onslaught of people that have never ate there travelers. But as far as the locals go, you're gonna lose a lot of business.!!!!
